As a graduate student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide plenty of attention, walks, playtime, and cuddles throughout the day. I’m currently on summer break, so I have even more availability than usual. I also have a part-time research assistant position that takes me out of the house two days per week for about three hours at a time. During those times, my partner works from home and is always there with the dogs, so they are never left alone. We both have extensive experience caring for dogs, and our own dog is a big part of our daily routine. Between the two of us, your dog will receive plenty of supervision, care, and attention throughout their stay.

Safety, trust & environment

I live in an apartment with easy access to several green spaces and walking routes, making potty breaks and walks a natural part of the day. I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable, and low-stress environment where dogs can settle in and feel at home. Whether we’re out exploring the neighborhood or relaxing indoors, your dog’s well-being, routine, and comfort will always come first.

Information Betsy W. would like to know about your pet

Before booking, I’d like to know a little about your dog’s personality, routine, and care needs to make sure it’s a good fit for everyone. The most important thing is that your dog is friendly and gets along well with both people and other dogs, as they will be sharing space with my dog. A little shyness or social anxiety is completely okay, but they should be able to interact safely and comfortably with others. I’d also love to know about their typical activity level, potty schedule, daily routine, and any quirks or preferences they have. The more I know about what makes your dog happy and comfortable, the better I can help them feel at home while they’re with me. Important: All dogs must meet my dog prior to any stays. Dogs 20lbs+ will be a case by case acceptance based upon their energy levels and ability to be gentle around my miniature dachshund! Since she is so small, I need to on the more cautious side for bigger dogs.

A typical day

A typical day with me includes plenty of exercise, enrichment, and attention. I live in an area with lots of green space and enjoy taking frequent walks throughout the day. With my own dog, I focus on making walks fun and engaging by letting them explore, sniff, and experience their surroundings rather than just rushing from point A to point B. We also play games and incorporate activities that keep them mentally stimulated as well as physically active. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or simply getting lots of attention, I’ll make sure they feel happy, engaged, and well cared for while they’re with me.

Your Dog’s New Best Friend

Pet care experience

Hi! I’m Betsy. I currently have a playful miniature dachshund who loves making new friends, so your pup will always have a buddy by their side! I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life and truly can’t imagine life without them. I live with my partner who is a fellow lover of dogs, so there will always be someone there to give your little one all the love and care they need (and deserve)! I can’t wait to meet your fur-babies and make them feel right at home! I update my calendar 3 months out at a time. If looking further, and see only unavailable don’t be alarmed!

I can’t recommend Betsy enough! She is reliable, caring, and always go above and beyond for my pup. Every walk is handled with so much attention and love. My doggo always comes back happy, calm, and well-exercised. Communication is excellent; I always get timely updates and photos, which give me total peace of mind. Betsy truly loves animals and treats them like their own. Having someone trustworthy, punctual, and genuinely kind makes all the difference. I feel lucky to have found her and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their services to anyone looking for the best care for their dog.

Betsy has helped out with both my husky (anyone who knows huskies knows this challenge) and my two cats over the years and her help is invaluable! She is very go with the flow and patient with the pets. Her sweet dog Luna has been around all of my pets as well for long weekend trips and is the best playmate- very docile and easy going. A great pick for pet sitting!
