Pet care experience
WFH dog lover with fenced yard
I'm a devoted dog lover and owner who wishes I could have a whole pack. I've cared for dogs since I was in elementary school, and am good with a variety of breeds and personalities. Shy and nervous pups are my specialty.

Betsy and her family took great care of Gabby for a weekend stay. Really appreciate her being able to do a meet and greet and then boarding on fairly short notice. We would not hesitate to board Gabby here again. Thank you!

Bear loves coming to stay at Betsy’s house and he is so well-cared for when there. Highly recommended!

We have had nothing but wonderful experiences with Betsy! We can’t recommend her enough

Luna really seemed to enjoy her week with Betsey and her family. The proof being that when I arrived she picked up a toy and ran away. Betsey was wonderfully flexible with allowing a drop off the night before we had planned due to my concerns about long security lines at the airport. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with Betsey and her family and I would do it again.
Betsy took such good care of our anxious little dog. We would definitely use her next time we board him!

Two stars instead of one due to the fact that our dog had one to two weekly visits with Betsy over the course of months and this was an especially upsetting incident. We utilized Betsy for daycare, typically all day once or twice per week. I found it concerning that on more than one occasion, the one or two photos we received in our dog's report card were recycled from previous visits. I also had asked for our dog's harness to be removed while she was indoors, a request that was not honored due to indoor photos of her wearing the harness. There were times when food would be returned to us untouched, and we were never told whether or not she had been given the opportunity to eat. At least once, we were given the wrong food back. Our dog has developed new guarding behavior since staying with Betsy, and I believe it's due to food scarcity and lack of monitoring meal times with multiple dogs. Yesterday, my partner arrived to pick her up at the usual time. They rang the doorbell and knocked several times over the course of several minutes. Eventually, Betsy's ~11 year old daughter came to the door and opened it, and our dog ran past my partner into the yard to poop urgently. The child apologized profusely, and we obviously don't hold her responsible. She gave my partner the bags of food, which again appeared untouched. We have no way of knowing how long our dog (and others) were left alone with a child, or if she was let outside or fed. As of nearly 24 hours later, the visit report card is not complete and Betsy has not reached out to explain what happened. We will not be rebooking, as this is not only unacceptable but a safety concern. It makes me sad because I do believe our dog loves Betsy (and the rest of the family), but she deserves more.

Schedule
I'm home-based, so I have lots of flexibility for walks and belly rubs. While there are play and yard breaks, days can be fairly quiet, at least until my kids get home! The dogs play together outside and we go on walks around the neighborhood, but the days are too slow for high-energy dogs. There's always a supply of pets, scratches, and snuggles available.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
My yard has a three-foot fence, which is good for most pups, but can be cleared by strong jumpers. I can do crates, but they're not required as long as your pup is comfortable and not destructive. Dogs are allowed on furniture but not on beds. There may be up to 5 dogs at a time, including daycare visitors and my pup. I require a test night for new dogs booking stays of 5+ days to ensure that your dog fares well in this environment.
Pets
A typical day
I live in an active neighborhood with lots of foot traffic - both people and pups - to watch. Dogs may hang out inside or outside, depending on the weather and their preference. I am out with the dogs when they are in the yard. We will go for walks to some of the parks in the area, so there are lots of good smells and opportunities to explore.
