Information Betsy B. would like to know about your pet
I always prefer to do a home visit with you before hand to get the lay of the land and meet your dog(s). It's great to see how your dog interacts with YOU first, and getting face-to-face instructions on special meds and needs is tantamount to us having a mutually satisfying sit. I want to give your pets the best level of care they can receive. There will also undoubtedly be non-pet issues relating to your home for us to discuss - such as garbage collection times or that one toilet that doesn't flush.

If this is your first time using Rover to book a sitter, I am happy to explain the confusing upcharges and help you navigate for your needs.

25+ years of pet sitting in LA!
Pet care experience
Hello! I'm a female in my 40s who loves pets! I am also proudly Dog First Aid & CPR certified. After 20+ years working professionally in the entertainment industry, I have now been petsitting full time for 6 years and have a trusted network of sitters. I'm a writer as well, and since I work from home, make my own hours, and thrive on the occasional change of scenery and furry company, I love to pet sit. My beloved Mastiff died and I miss our walks and hugs. Happy to take care of dogs of all sizes, (I have personally only ever owned large breeds) and cats and fish and bunnies and turtles. Sorry -NO SNAKES! Dogs have sweet souls and they miss you when you're gone! My "job" is to keep things as close to normal for them, so if they're used to certain walks, certain play times, sharing the bed (and taking up all the space!), etc., I will do my best to keep to their daily routine. On the flip side, most cats don't want to be bothered, so if they want to ignore me, I just feed & clean the litter, and leave them be unless they "choose" to acknowledge me. I'm happy to text you with daily updates, photos, and videos while you're away. I have experience with providing medications, puppy teething, difficult personalities, bolters, and the super needy. I am not one of those people who thinks that poo and shedding and gas and bad breath are icky, that's just how dogs are! I am quiet, mature, responsible, and I won't watch anything weird to mess up the algorithm on your Netflix or other streaming accounts ! If not already booked, I am 100% available and looking forward to caring for your babies. ***MY OVERNIGHT RATE IS A FLAT RATE of $110 a night (which covers 24 hours of care)! Please note that the Rover site keeps modifying their surcharge (I know it's frustrating!) - so the rate you pay for the first sit varies depending on that. Also, the rover site will automatically multiply my rate by the number of pets you have. THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU WILL PAY. My dog-sitting rate is a flat fee for an overnight stay, no matter how many pets you have (unless we're talking a legit menagerie). Please don't freak out when Rover gives you a crazy booking rate (ie: $950 for 3 nights, etc.) I will need to manually adjust when that happens, and you will see that happen before I book on my end.
Reviews

So thankful to have found Betsy. She dropped in on our two cats while we were away, and took care of our girls fantastically. Highly recommend for cat care.

Betsy took excellent care of our lab!! She provided us with pictures and updates that made us feel reassured! We could tell that our sweet girl was very happy with her. We would highly recommend Betsy!
Caring, great to work with. Betsy is now our go-to dog sitter!!

This was our first drop-in visit with Betsy. Archie is an 11 week old puppy and can be a handful. Betsy was very easy to communicate with and conducted a meet and greet prior to our scheduled time. Archie felt very calm and didn’t show any signs of anxiety when meeting her. During Archie’s care, Betsy demonstrated caution and care by making puppy proof suggestions to prevent any accidents or harm. Betsy is also very attentive to any request that are made and sends many pictures throughout the visit. Archie looks forward to many more playtime visits. You will be in great hands with Betsy! Thank you!!
