My name is Betina, and I live in North Andover, MA—a community I truly love and proudly advocate for. Although I grew up in South Florida, my passion for animals has followed me everywhere. I even used Rover back then, and I still believe it’s a wonderful way to connect caring pet parents with trustworthy caregivers. My love for animals began in childhood. I used to knock on neighbors’ doors asking if they needed their dogs walked or washed. Growing up, I shared my home with cats, reptiles, rodents, and fish—and I still have fish today. I truly adore them. I attended a zookeeping camp where I helped care for and train elephants, and I spent my summers at Circle F Dude Ranch, where I proudly served as the rodeo drill team captain. Animals have always been my calling. One of my favorite childhood memories is inviting all the neighborhood cats over for my cat’s birthday party. As an adult, I’ve built extensive professional experience in animal care. I’ve worked in pet stores, volunteered at animal shelters, and been part of doggy daycare teams. I proudly graduated from Merryfield School of Pet Grooming and continue to expand my knowledge through online education and attending AKC dog shows. I worked at Petco for 10 years, gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of animals and pet needs. I also took full responsibility for my mother’s dog, Jackson, who was diabetic, blind, deaf, and struggled with high anxiety. I administered insulin injections twice daily and managed his long-term trazodone medication with care and dedication. One of my own dogs, Bandit, suffered from chronic ear infections, which required daily treatment. I’ve also lovingly nursed newborn puppies until they were healthy and ready for adoption—and yes, I still have the pictures. They were absolutely adorable. I am CPR certified and hold animal safety certifications. Caring for animals isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am, and it’s been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember.
