Information Bethany A. would like to know about your pet

Knowing a pet’s general temperament is important for me. I do not have breed restrictions, but your pet must not be aggressive or violent in any way. Potty and leash trained pets are also preferred.

A typical day

Our townhome’s fenced-in backyard is grassy and surrounded by a tall deer-fence that allows for dogs to see into the wilderness and get all the smells. It is a perfect place to play ball or frisbee, play chase, or sunbathe. I also have an inflatable pool if your dog likes to take a dip in the water. If your pup loves walks like we do, our townhome is situated right on the W&OD trail. With permission, we also are a five minute walk from the Shirlington Dog Park and a smaller, less-busy park called Fort Banard Dog Park. The Shirlington downtown area is also very dog friendly, so if they would like to get more human interaction & love, taking a stroll down in the neighborhood is always a good pass time. Patio sits at restaurants are also a favorite! Because I have a car, I’m open to traveling for adventures in the surrounding area, including trail walks, creek or beach swims, picnics, and other outdoor adventures. Griffin himself is a very considerate companion who will match the energy of the room. He ranges from very snuggly and playing separately, to full-blown silliness and playfulness. He loves to share his toys and snuggle. Even if your dog is not an outdoor dog, they will feel companionship in our home. Lounging around the house is also a fun activity in our book!

Pet care experience

Hello everyone! My name is Bethany, and I am a mother to Griffin, who I adopted from the Shirlington AWLA shelter just over 7 years ago. He is a very sweet, playful and social boy. Therefore, any dog for in-home boarding must be comfortable staying with another dog. I am home full-time, so I’m looking to provide care for dogs at my townhome or providing walks. My townhome has a fenced-in backyard that does not share any borders with neighbors (along many acres of woods!), so there’s a private grassy oasis for our dogs to explore and play in the backyard. I’m available to let them out and supervise as regularly as wanted or needed. I have a midsize SUV, so I can also provide pick up and drop off services if needed. This also allows me to take them on approved adventures, and respond with vet services in an emergency. Overall, I will care for your pet with whatever guidelines you provide. I have grown up with animals and have spent time caring for them throughout my entire life. Our home is a cozy and safe space for your pet while you are away, and Griffin is always excited to make new friends. I also have a partner that is well-experienced in caring for dogs throughout his life. We look forward to meeting you! 🐾

Bethany is the kind of dogsitter who will send a full report card at the end of the day. She sent lots of photos and follow-ups of my girl, Carm, and made sure she had plenty of exercise and lovings. My dog loves spending time at Beth’s and she is my go-to sitter.

If you’re looking for someone who will treat your pet like family, I can’t recommend Bethany enough. Bethany has a genuine love for dogs and animals, and it shows in everything she does. She’s incredibly patient, kind, dependable and attentive to each pet’s unique personality and needs. We have an 8 year old large breed dog named Griffin and watching the bond they share says everything about the kind of caregiver she is. Griffin is more than just a pet to us he’s family and she has always given him endless love, affection, exercise, and the best possible care. Whether it’s playtime, long walks, keeping him comfortable or simply giving him the attention he deserves, she always puts his well being first. Any pet in her care will be treated with the same love, respect and compassion she gives Griffin. You can have complete peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in caring, capable and trustworthy hands.

Beth is the best with my big pup. She always makes sure that he has the best time when he is staying there and gives him lots of cuddles and is always sharing the cutest pictures of him when I am away. Beth loves animals and I always trust her with my pup. Her dog Griffin gets along so good with my great dane and they always have the best time. Highly recommended!!
