Caring for pets has been a part of my life for a long time, through both pets of our own and foster pets! We’ve been fostering for the past decade and have cared for over 30 dogs and cats. I have experience with dogs with all kinds of personalities, including shy, anxious, and reactive. My favorite thing about animals is they all have their own personalities, and I love learning about who they are! My approach is to meet pets where they’re at and let them set the pace for our interactions, especially those who need a little extra time to feel comfortable with someone new. Senior dogs have an especially big place in my heart, as we have two of our own, and I’m very comfortable with the extra patience and care older pups sometimes need. I’ve also fostered and spent time with dogs of many breeds, sizes, and personalities, including bully breeds which are always welcome!

I will treat your home as a guest in it; I’m tidy and will clean up after me and your pets! What is helpful for me to know is what your pet’s typical day looks like, if they have any favorite or important parts to their routine, and ways they like to get stimulation (walk, play, puzzles). Where do they sleep? As much information as you can tell me about your pet is better so I can keep things as normal for them as possible!

Beth is an animal lover through and through. In addition to caring for her own pets, she has been a dedicated foster of cats and dogs for many years. She has cared for animals with a variety of medical and behavioral needs, and she really puts in the time and effort to gain their trust and understand their needs. Beth has looked after my dog many times, and I always know that he’s getting walks, stimulation, and lots of snuggles. Beth will love your animals just like her own, and that’s a huge comfort to any pet parent.
I've known Beth since we went to undergrad together over 15 years ago. Our shared love for animals is among the many reasons we remain close friends. In addition to providing exceptional care to her own pets, Beth dedicates much of her free time to volunteering as a dog walker with Minneapolis Animal Care and Control and fostering for local rescues. This experience makes her confident when meeting new animals and competent to care for those with more complex behavior or medical needs. Whether it's a leisurely stroll with plenty of stops and sniffs along the way, or a quick jog to burn off some puppy energy, she'll ensure your pet gets the most out of their time together. Beth is the friendly and reliable person you want looking after your pet while you're away.
Beth has watched our dogs on multiple occasions and we couldn’t be happier with her services (and neither could our pups). When they see her pulling up to the house they are ecstatic to see her. She has dropped in on them, walked them, and stayed overnight and does an exceptional job every time. She sends us plenty of updates with photos, and treats our dogs as her own. We always have peace of mind when they are in her care. One of our pups has a few extra medical conditions, which Beth treats with nothing but patience and attentiveness. She has an extensive history in pet care, and it shows in her exceptional attention to detail with our pups. I would highly recommend Beth with all of your dog sitting needs!

Schedule
I work a hybrid schedule with quite a bit of flexibility. I generally don’t work Sundays or Mondays, work from home most Wednesdays and Fridays, and am typically flexible throughout those days. I’m usually in the office Tuesdays and Thursdays, but am generally only away for 4–6 hours at a time and can often adjust my schedule with advance notice. Some of my work is event-based, so I occasionally need to be away for ~2 hours on an evening or Saturday morning. When I have an evening commitment, I make a point to spend more time at your home and with your pet during the day. For stays longer than 2 or 3 nights, I’ll occasionally stop by my own home to see my spouse and our own pets, for no more than a couple of hours at a time every other day or so. About 6 hours would be the longest I’d generally plan for your pet to be on their own, though this is the max and it would typically be less. During the meet and greet, we can talk through your pet’s specific needs and possible scheduling accommodations. I’m currently available for house sitting in your home, as well as walks and drop-in visits. We have a full house of our own (including fosters!), so I’m not offering boarding or daycare in my home at this time.

Whenever possible, I’d like to visit your home and meet your pet(s) in advance before we confirm so we can go through your pet’s needs and they can meet me!
