After enjoying retirement for years, in April 2023, I reentered the work force on a part-time basis, first as a veterinary receptionist and then became a veterinarian assistant. I also enrolled in an Veterinarian Technician program and successfully completed, with honors, the first of two years. By my choice, I am no longer employed. However, I am looking to supplement my income by doing helping others and giving love and attention to their pets. I am available daily from 9 am until 6 pm. If there is a conflict with my schedule, UPON OVWNER APPROVAL, my husband can and has taken my place. He attends Meet and Greets with me so that owners can have the opportunity to meet and interview both of us.

Safety, trust & environment

My dogs have access to a fenced 20' x 30' fenced area while outside. This is for safety reasons as the main road runs in front of my house. When I'm outside, my dogs have unleashed freedom on my enclosed deck. Inside my home, dogs are free to roam about. They sleep in either my bedroom or my son's bedroom. Crates are not used unless specifically requested by the owner. Any pet that boards at my home is cared for in the same manner as if they were my own. When hired to do a drop in service, I abide by all rules set out by the owner. Dogs are never let off lead until in a safe and secure environment, for example, their home, a gated fence, secure deck, etc.

Information Beth K. would like to know about your pet

I have owned and currently own dogs with special needs. I have experience with post surgical care, vestibular disease, trachea disorders, ear infections, eye infections, torn CCL, arthritis, allergies, congestive heart disease, renal disease, broken bones, wound care, special dietary needs, glucose testing and insulin injections. If your dog has any special needs, I am a very quick learner and am willing to provide the care your pet needs.

A typical day

Whatever your normal routine for your dog is, I'm willing to keep to maintain his/her schedule. Due to personal limitations, I cannot lift dogs over 15 lbs. I will exercise and play with your dogs in their contained area, house, or yard, if requested. I will feed and refill water bowls as instructed. I will also give them lots of love, hugs, and attention.

Pet care experience

Beginning at the age of 8, I've owned and cared for many dogs and have over 50 years experience. I always wanted to be a vet, but because of the education commitment, expense, and my fear of loving them too much to put them down, I left my dream in the past. I have always groomed my own pets. I am self taught on hair clipping, nail trimming and anal gland expression. I have experience with beginner obedience and Canine Good Citizen training.

Beth is fantastic! She was available on short notice, had great communication, and is very good with pets. My cat usually hides from people but she warmed up to Beth right away. She really is a pet whisperer. She even helped me clip my cat’s nails. I feel comfortable leaving my cat with her in the future.
