I work from home and go out every day for a walk with dogs. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday I'm out hiking with dogs and would love to bring guest dogs out for some fun too! I have a fairly flexible schedule but do have some weekends blocked off as I do participate in dog sport events. I also have my own dogs so client dogs must be friendly toward other dogs.

Information Beth G. would like to know about your pet

I love all dogs and have no breed preferences. I do ask that no dog I watch or walk have any bite history toward humans or history of aggression toward humans. Part of any meet and greet visit will be to learn about the individual dog - their personality and physical capabilities, their energy levels and exercise needs, as well as their level of training or obedience skills.

A typical day

Dogs I watch on vacation visits will enjoy a personalized program developed with their owner(s). My goal is to tailor every walk or visit to the individual dog and each dog's personality and ability. Most dogs will enjoy a nature walk at their own pace, complete with lots of opportunities for sniffing - as a dog gathers most information about the world through their olfactory senses! With owner(s) permissions, we may also work on some basic life skills, such as impulse control behaviors, as well as play some games such as find it and fetch. I also have a good sized yard that is completely fenced.

Pet care experience

I currently work from home and have a good-sized and fully fenced yad. I've lived with dogs for my entire life and current have four of my own - all Border Collies. I compete in dog agility and also enjoy trick training. I volunteered at Seattle Humane Society for many years, including as a volunteer trainer assistant in the Reactive Rover program. I've had a couple of reactive rovers myself and am familiar with fear and fear-based aggression. I employ positive reinforcement training on my own dogs and with dogs I have worked with. Since training and competing in dog sports, as well as actively hiking in the Pacific Northwest has been my passion for the past decade, I have decided to make good use of the skills I've acquired. Dog that stay with me will be treated to plenty of outdoors time and if they are up for it - some hiking!

Beth is thoughtful, considerate, and wonderful with doggos. We went through Rover's list searching for a very experienced dog walker for our Luna Bella, and we're glad we found Beth.

Dogs are family, and Beth treats them accordingly! She has lived and worked with many different dogs over the years and takes time to get to know each dog individually so that she can provide the very best care and enrichment. All of my dogs adore their "Auntie Beth" and look forward to seeing her at agility competitions and on hiking adventures. Beth is dependable and prompt and I would absolutely trust her to care for my dogs. She has assisted dog training classes ranging from puppy socialization, basic manners and reactive Rover. She understands how to use dog-friendly methods to improve behavior while having fun at the same time. We give four paws up to Beth!
