Highlights
Pet care experience
Pet-loving music teacher!
- I welcome your pet the way I would want my precious fur-children to be treated. Love, care, gentleness, kindness, attention to their needs, aware that they might be nervous and scared. I sleep with them if they want that. I spend hours on the couch cuddling with them and watching TV. Immaculate attention to their feeding, medication, and walking schedule. - I only host one family’s pets at a time. - I have two separate floors separated by a closing door and dog gates. My pets and your pet stay separated and will remain that way. A stay away from home is not necessarily the time to for your dog to be exposed to the stress of new animals. - My yard is fenced in well enough for small to medium dogs. - I host dogs up to 25 pounds. Feel free to contact me if your dog weighs more than that. Calm dogs and senior dogs that weigh more than 25 pounds will probably do well in my home. - I focus on daycare and boarding in my home. - Guest dogs stay in my first floor tv room/playroom which has immediate access to the outside through the back door with no steps – great for senior dogs. They have the entire den to themselves, as well as a smaller cozy space (the downstairs office). - I have a dedicated cat bedroom: your cat will enjoy two cat trees and a view of beautiful trees, birds, and sunshine. DETAILS: I am a Richmond Public Schools teacher and a musician. A lifelong dog owner, I am the proud mama to rescue pups Bentley and Bo (my angel dog in heaven). I also have two charming, funny, and delightful cats — Gwen and Cricket. I live in a two-story, four-bedroom home with a fenced-in backyard near Westover Hills, Redd Elementary School, Lucille Brown, and Chippenham Hospital. We are close to a couple of dog parks, including Barker Field, and within a few miles of the VMFA, with plenty of green spaces to walk and relax in the fresh air. If you like, I’m happy to take your dog to Barker Field, where I will monitor your pup closely for safety. I have a large fenced backyard for safe, frequent potty breaks. Your pup will truly be cared for like my very own.

Beth was AMAZING! This was our first time getting a sitter, so we were pretty nervous for our girl, and we submitted a very last minute request. Beth went above and beyond and sent plenty of updates and pictures. Bella got plenty of outside time and cuddles. We will definitely book with Beth again. Thank you so much.

Beth took great care of my boy:) She had patience with him and really did a great job keeping him comfortable.

Beth did an amazing job! She gave regular updates and sent photos consistently. Violet obviously got wonderful care. I'm so happy we made this choice!

Beth clearly connected with Lula! She sent sweet photos that helped reassure me that my kittycat was in good hands and getting loving attention and plenty of skritch-scratches.
This was our first time leaving our 15 month old, often clingy Cavapoo with a dog sitter overnight. Beth took magnificent care of our dog providing care, attention, many walks and trips to the dog parks, and companionship with her own older dog. Reina returned to us after five days with Beth looking happy, well and suitably tired, but was sad to see Beth depart. Beth also kept us posted what was going on every day which we appreciated greatly. Beth knows dogs and knows how to make sure they feel safe and secure, which was everting for us. We recommend her extremely highly and look forward to using her again next time we have to be away for a few days.
Just wanted to thank Beth for caring for my puppy Coco. We met Beth prior to her keeping Coco overnight which I thought was great. Coco has never been overnight with anyone since I got her and during our meet and greet, I knew Coco would be in good hands. Beth kept me updated on what Coco was doing throughout the day and even the morning prior to picking her up. She kept Coco active by taking her on multiple walks and even taking her to the dog park. I would definitely recommend Beth to my friends that have pets. Thanks again Beth and we will see you soon.

Schedule
Because I am a teacher, my summers are wide open for long walks, backyard playtime, cuddles on the couch, and plenty of one-on-one attention for your pets throughout the day. During the summer, I spend most of my days at home catching up on spring cleaning, gardening, yardwork, reading, and chatting on the phone. Your pet will have human companionship for most of the day, except for occasional grocery shopping and errands.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I love ALL dogs and will treat your sweet one like my own. Dogs are precious to me. Boarding dogs will have non-stop loving, cuddling, and affection. If your dog prefers to sleep alone, they can choose from two guest bedrooms with lots of comfy hiding places as well as multiple dog beds scattered throughout my home. My 1/4 acre yard is fenced in well enough for small and medium dogs. Your dog will enjoy hanging out with me while I garden or read on a blanket in the backyard, sniffing all the new smells.
Pets
A typical day
We’ll start our days with a romp in the fenced-in backyard (on leash for larger dogs). We’ll take a morning walk, perhaps as far as the track at Lucille Brown Middle. We might walk around the grounds of the VMFA and hang out on the grass, soaking up sunshine. We can visit Barker Field dog park (if you want us to), or walk around Fountain Lake. Later, we’ll cuddle on the couch, and of course, all dogs are welcome on the bed at night! If your dog prefers to sleep alone, I’ve got two guest bedrooms in addition to the main playroom, with lots of comfy hiding places and multiple dog beds scattered throughout my home.
- Cats0 to 15 lbs16 to 40 lbsSpayed and neutered dogs onlyNo females in heatTakes only 1 client at a timeBeth can host up to 2 pets per night
- Let me know if your dog needs any special medication. I can administer oral medication but don’t have experience injecting. I have no breed preference, but am only accepting small and medium dogs at this time. NOTE: If your dog is aggressive to other dogs, please be transparent about that. I keep all guests well-separated from my pets within my large house. Your dog would be safe and well cared for in a very clean, homey environment, but they would not be mingling with my dog and they would have to sleep alone in their own room.
