PLEASE NOTE - My preferred working areas are South and Central Glasgow. I may accept other areas of Glasgow City if the location is accessible by public transport or by bike as I do not drive, however I do not accept bookings outside of Glasgow City. I am currently unemployed and available every day of the week at almost every hour. I have a couple of social events during the week but it shouldn't interfere greatly with sitting/walking work. Unless I already have an existing booking at the same time or the booking is too far for me to travel, I will most likely accept requests!

Dogs will always be walked on leash and will always use provided devices (harness, muzzle, etc). They will be walked in the provided route if offered, otherwise I will determine the safest route in the area. Life360 location can also be provided so you are able to see my location at a glance if need be. Other pets, including cats or other free roam pets, will be secured before opening doors/windows while caged animals will have their enclosures cleaned and checked regularly. I work using a positive reinforcement method when handling dogs, which emphasises rewarding good behaviour over punishment for bad behaviour. I do not use any methods involving 'alpha mentality' or domination tactics. Most of my experience has been with medium-sized dogs so I am also adept at being firm and speaking authoritatively when needed without being cruel or violent.

A typical day
What I do on a typical day depends on the pet - some like to be couch potatoes while others prefer being out and about. Low energy pets won't be for pushed into constant activity. As for high energy pets, playing their preferred games, treats that stimulate natural behaviours and other activities await them.

Queer / LGBT+ safe. 🏳️🌈 I've lived with animals my whole life - from fostering a family of feral cats in Cyprus, to owning cats, dogs, fish, birds, hamsters and reptiles, to now being a PFSS Fosterer. I have the most experience with cats, dogs and small rodents, but in general I can care for almost any domestic animal. Currently I am on the way to become officially pet first aid certified, as well as receiving a certificate in canine behaviour and psychology to become a professional dog trainer, which is what my prices reflect.

Ben was really great with our dog Alma while We were on holiday. He kept us updated regularly with photos and details of how each day went. He definitely knows what he is doing and you don’t need to worry about leaving your pet with him. We left him a very detailed “handbook” of her schedule and he followed it very well. Ben also took the time to clean on the last day , which We did not expect or want,but he did anyway. That was very kind and respectful, Thank you!! 100% recommend Ben you can’t go wrong with him!
