I am currently a middle school teacher, so I do work from 7:30-4:30 each weekday during the school year. So, I am only available during evenings, weekends, and holidays. My husband and I usually pet-sit together. He is a part-time educator at the Virginia Zoo, part-time ASL interpreter student, part-time barista, and full-time animal lover!

Please, let me know if your pet has any special needs or behaviors I should be aware of. For dogs especially, please warn me if they are dog aggressive so I can be cautious and keep everyone safe! For any pet, I would also appreciate warnings for escape artists. I know some pets love an open door more than others and want to be sure to prevent any mishaps.
A typical day
I love long walks or hikes and am happy to provide play time, snuggles, or whatever enrichment you and your pet prefer. For cats, I can do quick drop-ins for feeding or longer ones to give them some attention and care depending on the needs of your pet.

I’ve had dogs and cats my entire life. I currently have 4 cats, one of which is elderly and takes twice daily medication and one who is a previously-feral tripod that we rehabilitated after he lost his hind leg in an accident. We’ve also worked with a few diabetic cats; so, injections are no problem. So, I do have some experience with special needs and medically-complex furbabies! I also have cared for dogs of all shapes and sizes in my life and during my time volunteering at animal shelters and pet sitting. Your big boy or pittie will not scare me. Additionally, I have basic experience with reptiles, fish, and rodents. As a pet parent, I know how scary it can be to leave your pets with a stranger (or anyone really!) but I would love to meet and care for your furry friend as if they were one of my own!

Benjamin and Vincent were AWESOME with my absolute weirdo of a fur kid. Phoebe is a rescue with some trauma in her past, so it usually takes her a long time to warm up to new people. The first day she met Benjamin and Vincent, she was a bit standoffish and nervous, but they were SO patient with her and fully understood dog body language and got down on her level and let her approach at her own pace. By the first night, Benjamin had already sent pics of Phoebe snuggling with Vincent, and she was snuggling with BOTH of them and even bringing them her Pig (her most treasured toy that only her besties get to lay a hand on 😂). I would recommend Benjamin and his husband Vincent to anyone, but most especially to anyone with a Nervous Nellie type dog. These guys are SO compassionate and sweet, and my dog picked up on that right away. I had complete peace of mind with her in their care! Thank you both!!

Benjamin showed up to all appointments and managed our high needs cats food and medication routines wonderfully. Benjamin also went above and beyond to bring in our packages and bring our trash cans up while we were out of town.
Benjamin was absolutely fantastic! Attentive, timely and very communicative. Our boys adored him and my husband and I loved the video and photo updates. We would absolutely recommend. Thank you for taking such good care of our dogs.
