To Be Your Dog’s Best Bud

I have owned beagles since I was 4 years old, I started walking the dogs in my neighborhood when I was 8 years old, then when I was in high school I started house sitting as well. I have volunteered at Oregon Humane Society and fostered dogs in the past as well. It’s important for me to provide the best care that I can, that the pets I care for feel safe and loved with me, and that I can be an extension of their family.

We booked Benjamin for 7 days overnight housesitting. We also booked Benjamin several times prior to our vacation to help our dog get used to him. Benjamin was communicative throughout these bookings. Unfortunately, after we got home from our vacation we were speaking with our neighbors who shared that they did not see Benjamin or his car at our home very often. We directly messaged Benjamin to see if he stayed overnight at our place. He did not respond to our messages. This prompted us to check our security footage. We found that Benjamin did not stay a single night instead leaving ~10-11pm and not returning until ~10:30am-12pm the next day, often leaving our dog crated for 14+ hours. We also found that Benjamin left our dog crated during the day longer than agreed upon on multiple occasions, the most extreme being approximately 8 hours (in addition to being crated overnight). We reached out to him to see what happened and why he did not follow through with our booking. We never heard back from him. Thankfully Rover worked with us and was able to settle things with us. We are very disappointed in Benjamin's lack of follow through. We would not recommend booking him.

Ben took such great care with our pup and home. We felt confident that she was taken care of, and our home was left spotless!

Benjamin was communicative prior to the booking and respectful when I decided to cut the booking short. Unfortunately he left my dog alone much longer than what we had discussed and was dishonest multiple times about the time/care he gave my dog (time spent & walks). Ultimately, I was uncomfortable and opted to cut my trip short.

This was our second time working with Ben, he watched our home and dog for 10 days and we came home to it cleaner then we left it. He sent daily pictures of our boy, and updated us regarding any changes in his schedule. Would recommend to anyone !

Ben was wonderful. Our dog Lucy developed some anxiety related diarrhea during the stay. He was very accommodating and communicative with us. Lucy woke him up multiple times through the nights and he took care of her well. I would recommend him to anyone!

Safety, trust & environment

I have an 11 year old beagle named Shiloh. I have firm boundaries in place (mainly no begging for food/ no human food), he stays in the back seat while we’re in the car (he even has a seatbelt), he gives people and dogs their space when they need it, but I do spoil him as well with multiple daily walks (3-4 times) and I take him to our nearby dog park every day, we go on weekend day trips exploring the PNW, and he gets plenty of treats throughout the week. He’s also been sleeping with me since the day I brought him home at 3 months old. Again, it’s really important to me that animals feel safe, happy, and loved while in my care (but in general as well)

Pets

A typical day

When it comes to my day with Shiloh, we go on walks, feed him, go to our local dog park or explore Oregon (beach/hikes), and lots of cuddles. When I’m with your pet, I’ll do treat them the same as if they were my own, so lots of walks/adventures if able to and lots of cuddles.
