Availability

I'm working part time on several weekday evenings. Unfortunately, the app here doesn't let me cut a day apart, but I'm available morning through late afternoon every day but Monday. I can work from my laptop, so if you need sitting I can essentially sit for you indefinitely, provided I can bring Bruce the 45lb Catahoula. Even if I can't, we could figure something out.

I can't board pets (yet), but when at your place, I can care for them how you'd like. If you'd prefer they sleep in a kennel that's how we'll do it. If he's an old slow beagle who gets to wander then that's fine too. I can adapt to any food/exercise/medicine schedule they'll need, and while I don't have vet or medical training myself, I do have a vet tech on speed dial and they can talk me through nearly anything we encounter. Of course worst case there are several veterinary emergency services in the area I've got bookmarked.

Information Ben S. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know any special considerations your pooch has including medicine or behavioral considerations. I will deal with any breed, any age but I am not qualified to deal with aggression issues, so if that's what you're dealing with, I'm not your guy. If the source of aggression can realistically be avoided, say he's dog-aggressive but stays indoors or in backyard, that might be manageable.

A typical day

Bruce and I get up and hit the apartment dog park, take care of business then I like to give him a few tosses of fetch. He goes 100% speed till he gets the ball, so it's not hard to wear him down at least temporarily. Later in the day we might take a walk along the trails where he can meet some new people, some new dogs even. Before dinner I train/play for maximum focus. He loves play so much that I use it to get amazing focus and keen behaviors out of him and he's in heaven.

*Note* Sitters get punished if they don’t respond to booking requests quickly. Please be mindful of the time of day you submit requests, as it may be difficult or impossible to respond promptly and can hurt our page. Hello everyone, my name is Ben. I've been training and working with dogs for years, and what I want most is to improve your dog's life. A former roommate had a deeply traumatized little Sheppard mix who only liked her and absolutely no one else, especially other dogs. We worked with her over months, building up her confidence and willingness to trust, and she blossomed! I was finally able to adopt the best dog I have ever known, Bruce Banner! She had gotten so much more comfortable that they could actually shake hands, and that changed all our lives. Now, I don't have to work with your dog that thoroughly, maybe you just need a walk. But even so, my goal is to give your pup a better understanding of their world by positively shaping them along our walk (even without treats, if you'd prefer) to show them how to walk politely and to live confidently within their bounds. If you need a sitter and there are problem areas in the house--going after dropped food, running out doors, etc--I can work on those with the pooch and report back to you about what works and what doesn't. You get a vacation, dog gets some great training and engagement, win-win. If you don't need walk or sitting but still have one of those earlier mentioned or any of a million other slight things that could be better about your dog's behavior, feel free to reach out.

Ben is a great sitter. Genuinely cares for your fur babies as his own. Will be using him again for future sitting.

Ben did so well with my dogs and was so knowledgeable on dog training. He was flexible with my schedule and I had peace of mind while I was away. Thanks again!
