Reliable Pet Care You Can Trust
*Please schedule everything through Rover. I tend to get booked quickly, so please request a booking as soon as you think you’ll need it. Thank you!* When I do a meet and greet, I go by “no touch, no talk, no eye contact” until your animal is calm. It might come across as rude or as not caring for your animal, but I believe it’s the best way to introduce myself. I’m giving you a heads up on the way I will greet them. With more than 30 years of experience caring for a wide variety of animals—including dogs, cats, fish, smalI mammals, livestock, and reptiles (including large snakes)— I provide reliable, compassionate care tailored to each pet’s individual needs. I am certified by the American Red Cross in Cat and Dog First Aid. Every animal I care for receives the same attention and affection I’ve given my own over the years. My background includes more than 22 years of service in both the U.S. Marines and Army, where I was annually certified as a Combat Lifesaver—the military equivalent of an Emergency Medical Responder. This role gave me extensive hands-on experience in trauma response, life-saving procedures, and medical care. I can travel with a robust trauma kit if requested, and I always carry a stethoscope and pen light when working with mammals. I’ve found these skills apply effectively to pet care, particularly for animals with special medical needs. I also have strong experience with physical therapy with dogs. If you provide the instructions and timelines for the therapy, I am more than able to meet them. Should a medical emergency arise, I am fully equipped and trained to provide immediate, competent care until professional veterinary assistance is available. I am also proficient in administering medications—whether orally, intramuscular, intravenous, or subcutaneous injection. In addition, I have substantial experience working with reactive and aggressive dogs. With advance notice, I can take a thoughtful, informed approach to ensure your pet feels safe, respected, and at ease.

Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
I follow all instructions regarding walks, feeding, medications, and daily routines to ensure your pet remains comfortable and stress-free. My goal is to mirror your usual care routine as closely as possible, so your pet experiences minimal disruption while you're away. In your home, I take great care to maintain a clean, calm, and respectful environment. I will also ensure your home is safe and secure during each visit or stay, treating your space with the same care and responsibility I would my own.
Ratings and reviews
Ben was so knowledgeable and communicative! I’m very happy he was able last minute to watch our kitty just for an overnight trip! Would definitely book again :)

Ben is the greatest. I have two big dogs, one of which is typically very nervous and I worry when I have to leave her, but Ben treats her like any other dog and they do so well with him! I’m never nervous to leave my girls with him and I will book with him whenever I need to!

Ben is always great with my girl Brooke. She always has the best time and Ben sends pics and updates where Brooke is grinning ear to ear.
Ben does a great job. Stella (cat) loves him and she’s usually really shy. He communicates well and he always leaves our place just as clean if not cleaner than when we left (which is definitely not expected and very appreciated)

Ben did a great job taking care of my boy. My dog was diagnosed with a severe neurological illness very close to my vacation. He was on a lot of meds that had to be given at certain times from each other as well as some at home physical therapy. I came home to the same boy but he had more energy which means he was well taken care of! My house was also flawless and Ben was great at communicating the whole trip.

Ben is great! Timely and a great communicator. We trust him to take good care of our bubba!

Schedule
Please schedule all services through Rover. As a retiree, I have a highly flexible schedule and am happy to accommodate the needs of both you and your pets—often even on short notice. I understand how important reliable, trustworthy care is for you and your pets.
- Cats0 to 15 lbs16 to 40 lbs41 to 100 lbsover 101 lbsBen can host up to 5 drop-ins per day
- It’s very important for me to understand your pet’s schedule, triggers, medical needs, and food preferences/allergies in advance. This helps me provide the best and safest care possible. For dogs, I also like to know how they behave on leash, whether they are reactive to other animals, and if they tend to lunge or pull. I’m fully capable of handling these behaviors, and having this information upfront allows me to prepare appropriately and ensure a smooth, stress-free experience for both your pet and myself.
