Corporate professional turned full-time animal lover. After years in the corporate world, I decided to follow my true passion: the well-being of our fur-babies. I believe that preventative health and holistic wellness are essential to help our furry family members live longer, healthier lives. A natural diet, daily exercise, and mental stimulation are key components of this approach. I am studying Canine and Feline Nutrition at Southern Illinois University to become a professional consultant for pet parents. Until then, I love putting my research and studies into practice by advising families about pet food, snacks, supplements, exercise, and other essentials. Caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. Whether I am caring for a playful youngster, an energetic adult, a gentle senior, or a pet with special requirements, my goal is always the same: to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. My experience goes beyond everyday pet care. I have worked with animal rescue organizations in the US and Peru and fostered many dogs, including those with separation anxiety, trauma, medication needs, and post-op recovery. I am also certified in American Red Cross Pet First Aid and CPR, and I serve as the Out-of-State Dog Adoption Coordinator for SOCA Animal Rescue in Houston. Our Meet & Greet is an important part of my process. It gives us the chance to get to know each other and helps me learn about your kiddo's routine, feeding schedule, medical needs, favorite activities, and anything else that will help them feel comfortable while you're away. It is also a chance for you to ask me questions and see how I interact with your fur-baby. My dog, Bonnie, is a very spoiled 21 lb terrier-mix who lives like the queen she is. She always joins me on Meet & Greet visits (unless otherwise discussed) to make sure everyone is comfortable. She has a laissez-faire personality and gets along with dogs and cats of all sizes and personalities. Communication is extremely important to me. You will receive several daily updates, photos, and videos throughout your booking, giving you peace of mind while you’re away. I speak English, Spanish, and Portuguese, allowing us to communicate in whichever language feels most comfortable. Safety, trust & environment
During drop-in visits, I refresh their water, serve meals or treats as instructed, and spend time giving them attention, play, or cuddles depending on what they enjoy most. I can also administer medication if needed. On walks, I make sure dogs stay hydrated, especially during hot summer days. I never rush them, let them sniff around, and prevent them from eating anything suspicious. Their safety, comfort, and enjoyment always come first. I pay attention to their body language and tailor each walk to their pace and needs.

Belen was absolutely fabulous to work with! Our “baby” dog was taken very well care of and had complete confidence in Belen’s care. She provided multiple daily updates and even helped with a diet issue for our dog we’ve been concerned about. We would definitely hire her again and highly recommend her services.
Belen was fantastic with our 2 cats! She was very thorough with each drop in from letting us know when she was stopping in, sending pictures and sharing specific details on what the cats ate and if there were any concerns. She went above and beyond by watering my plants too! Very trustworthy - highly recommend!
Belen is AMAZING! She stayed at our home while we were out of the country to take care of our dog and cat for almost two weeks. Belen is a fantastic communicator, sends daily pics, provides the absolute best care of our animals (her knowledge of canine/feline nutrition is amazing), and just goes above and beyond (organizing the pet pantry for example). I really cannot say enough about how wonderful she is with animals and her committment to take good care of them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Belen has been very sweet with my dog, Bella. She took the time to meet her and play with her to make her feel more comfortable. Belen is truly exceptional with animals. She stayed in our home with our Labrador, and it was clear from the start that he was not only well cared for, but genuinely happy and comfortable in her presence. Her knowledge of pet care is impressive, especially when it comes to canine nutrition, and she consistently goes above and beyond to prioritize a dog’s health and well-being, both during her stay and even afterward. Belen is incredibly kind, attentive, and completely reliable. We felt total peace of mind knowing our dog was in such capable hands. She did an outstanding job, and we can confidently say she is the best pet sitter we have ever had. Highly, highly recommended.
