I lived in Istanbul, a very crowded and fast-paced city, for nearly 10 years with my two large-breed dogs. One of them is still very excited and energetic like a puppy, while the other is a very strong alpha dog who does not tolerate dominant behavior from other dogs. Their very different personalities — and sometimes challenging sides — have taught me to stay highly observant during walks and to anticipate anything that might affect them. Over time, walking both of them safely, calmly, and under control at the same time became a routine for me. One of my dogs weighs 55 lbs and the other 77 lbs. We moved to San Diego with our dogs for a while ago. During our walks here, I’ve experienced the neighborhood while also observing the environment and the local dogs around us. Even though I’ve had two loving dogs at home for 10 years, every dog I see outside still makes my heart melt. I truly love dogs. I can comfortably walk dogs weighing up to 70 lbs.
