At minimum, I always ask owners whether their pets are allowed on furniture, how long/often they like/need to be exercised, whether they are good with other people and pets, and if they have any special needs (particularly in regards to medication and/or specific dietary restrictions or allergies). When I host pets, I make sure to show them the around house and neighborhood first so that they can get used to a new environment. I never leave any doors or windows open (either in my or a client's house) where a pet might escape, and because I work from home, it's an easy situation to monitor anyway. If I need to leave the house, I make sure that the pets I sit are comfortable, have plenty of water available, and have been taken out recently for exercise/a bathroom break.

The only dogs I'm not a huge fan of are Chihuahuas, and my absolute favorites are huskies, pits, and german shepherds. Other than that, no preferences!
A typical day
I'd love to take walks all around the neighborhood, especially up to local parks and dog parks (if that's ok) near my house. I'd be especially psyched if your dog is down to chase a frisbee, but any type of fetch is fun, and we would definitely play outside if the weather's nice!

Pet care experience
When I was younger my family had a beloved shepherd/collie mix that my brother and I were in charge of taking care of. Unfortunately, he passed a way a while ago, but my parents recently got a pit bull who I absolutely adore. Whenever I stay with them, I feed her, take her on walks, and play with her indoors and out. She always sleeps in my bed and snuggles with me on the couch, which I love, but I know when she needs to be disciplined. I also dogsat for several friends in college with smaller dogs, and have been sitting with Rover since 2016, so I have plenty of experience taking care of dogs of all sizes and energy levels with all different kinds of schedules (both for me and the dog!) :D

Becca alerted me that one of our dogs was having some tummy troubles when she took them out on their regular walk and took extra time to give her a butt bath before leaving to help keep our home clean. She went the really went the extra mille and we were able to expediently resolve her GI irritation.
Becca was absolutely wonderful with our two Mini Aussies while we were away. Both of our dogs can be a little anxious, and one is reactive, so finding someone we trust is incredibly important. From the moment we met Becca, we felt comfortable and confident leaving them in her care. She provided thoughtful updates throughout our trip, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that she was attentive to their individual needs and made sure they felt safe and comfortable. We also felt completely at ease having her house sit for us. We came home to happy, well-cared-for dogs and a home that was just as we left it. We would absolutely recommend Becca to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and compassionate pet sitter, especially for dogs who may need a little extra patience and understanding.
Becca is a wonderful house/dog sitter! At our meet and greet she was friendly, knowledgeable, and confident. She immediately put me at ease about leaving my older dog for a weekend trip. Our girl really warmed up to her. She was quick to respond to my texts and provided daily updates of how Riley was doing. I highly recommend Becca to others and will be booking her again in the near future.
Fergus and Hazel love it when Becca comes to stay with them. Long walks for Fergus and plenty of play time.
