Barry is a great dog companion. I’ve used rover for walks and dog sitting. It sometimes takes a while for Penny, my 10lb yorkie mix, to warm up to the Rover, particularly if it’s a man. My dog was at ease with Barry from the first meeting. I’ve trusted him with my dog multiple times now and plan to have home dog sit again in the future. Barry always sends great photos throughout the visit and it’s clear that Penny loves it with him. It’s truly her second home. Knowing my dog is being genuinely cared for makes all the difference. Highly recommend.

I have known Barry for 35 years during which time he has cared for my dogs. Barry is a dog whisperer and has consistently demonstrated an uncanny ability to understand my dog’s personality and create an immediate calming relationship. He is exceedingly patient and calm and most importantly compassionate. My dog was highly anxious and at times even aggressive. Barry recognized the trauma Trixie suffered as a discarded puppy prior to her rescue and was able to connect and calm her - almost instantly. Trixie was always happy and calm with Barry. I wholeheartedly recommend Barry McHarvey to anyone looking for assistance with caring for their dog.

Barry hasn’t met a dog/animal that he didn’t like. He is great with everything from petite pups to senior short-hairs! I would trust Barry to care for any of my animals!

Thank goodness for Barry!! My little Shih Tzu isn’t always the friendliest but she warmed up to Barry the minute she met him. He is truly the dog whisperer and my Benny’s favorite sitter. Barry is attentive, communicative, reliable and gives us peace of mind whenever he is with our pup (and pictures!). Already booked for our next trips and highly recommend for yours.
