1/4 Acre. Fenced. Puppy-Senior-Meds

47 Years Experience Caring For Dogs. A FLAT home for SENIORS, PUPPIES, ADULTS, and the MEDICALLY CHALLENGED. Over the last 47 years, my family and I have had many different pets in America and abroad: dogs and cats, horses, dairy goats, sheep, ducks, geese, chickens, and even rabbits. Nowadays I work from home so I am here with your pups almost all of the time. HOURS OF OPERATION: My Hours for drop offs, pick ups, and Meet and Greets (which are by specific appointment times) begin at 8 am and end by 9 pm. Meet and Greets are held outdoors between 5 pm - 8 pm, Mon - Fri. They can last up to 20 minutes, and are also by specific appointment times. Your punctuality is appreciated. Thank you:) FAMILY COURTESIES: I am sometimes asked if guest pups can be dropped off at 5 am or 6 am and picked up as late as 11:30 pm at night because of either early morning or late night flights. The answer is "no". Please add an extra day to your booking request or ask a friend to pick up your pup in your place at a reasonable hour by appointment. Early or late guests, of any type, set off every dog barking within my home as they are protectors, and there is something "magical" about that front door, knocking on the front door, or ringing the doorbell. Very early morning barking and very late night barking wakes up my entire household who are employed outside the home. Please, be courteous to my family. Thank you:) PUPPIES: Yes! Who doesn't love puppies! I will take puppies under six months of age (dogs under one year of age according to Rover are charged puppy rates). See my boarding fees for puppies. They must be neutered or spayed if old enough, not in heat, crate trained, and up to date on all of their shots including Bordetella or kennel cough if old enough for the oral vaccine. CANINE SURGICAL RECOVERY: I am not a Veterinarian nor a rehabilitation center, but I do accept and care for special needs dogs which require multiple medications, specialty mixed foods, and recovering surgical canine patients. My daily boarding rate is cost adjusted upwards to $80 per day (Rover adjusts this) for the extra time, labor and physical strength that extensive orthopedic surgery recovery care requires, as in a recent guest that was 8 weeks out from spinal surgery and weighed 50 lbs. Our flat home is excellent for senior dogs (or those with hip dysplasia, limping issues, arthritis, or are blind, or blind as well as deaf) as we have no stairs for them to climb in our ranch home. There are only two steps to navigate out to the huge backyard. We have also been a (human) medical home for many years, so medications or eye drops needed for your pet, or conditions which they have, are matters routinely addressed with care and compassion here. I work from home and the care of the dogs is integrated into my daily routine and life. I am home almost all of the time. The dogs are cared for as if they were my own. They enjoy playing in my huge, fenced, back yard where they are able to go outside many times during the day and evening. They go where I go. The elderly and fragile dogs are separated from the normal energy and larger dogs. This is what I do full time. I am seeing to your pup's needs 24/7. The dogs and I have a great time being together.

I have great peace of mind when my Chihuahua is in Barbara’s care. He has stayed with her several times before and always comes home happy. Her ranch-style house and fenced back yard are perfectly suited to caring for dogs. I highly recommend her to other pet parents.

Schedule

I take care of dogs full time and I am home most of the time. My hours are 8 am - 9 pm for drop offs and pick ups seven days a week. I function by appointment only for Meet and Greets, drop offs and pick ups. Living on an acre means that I can be anywhere on the property taking action pictures, playing with the dogs, de pooping the 1/4 acre high fenced backyard, administering medications, etc. Functioning by appointments gets me back to the front door on time to meet clients and prospective clients when they arrive.

Safety, trust & environment

Vaccinations Note: My Heath and Safety Protocols include that all dogs must be completely up to date on their vaccinations including Bordetella (for kennel cough). Environmental Note: Where the dogs stay inside my home depends upon their size, energy and obedience levels, medical conditions, and age related needs. I have a huge 1/4 acre high fenced backyard for the large and healthy ones and a smaller yard for the little dogs and the medically and very senior fragile dogs.

A typical day

I live on an acre in a country setting within the City of Centennial. My other "backyard" is practically Cherry Creek State Park. The dogs love to run freely and safely in my huge fenced backyard. Each dog is loved on, belly rubbed, played with, thrown balls to go fetch with and generally given loads of attention. Since my home is a flat ranch style, I cater to many senior dogs and medically challenged dogs that prefer doing their own thing at their own pace in our huge backyard.
