Friends joke that I’m a “dog magnet” — dogs always seem to know I’m a safe person, and the feeling is mutual. I’m calm, nurturing, and very in tune with animals’ emotions and body language. I’ve also had lots of hands-on experience caring for dogs of different ages and personalities. I regularly take care of two senior Maltese dogs for close friends when they travel, so I am very familiar with gentle handling, slower-paced walks, medications, and the extra patience that older pups sometimes need. I’ll even be adding a photo of us together to my profile — they truly feel like part of my extended fur family. I don’t currently have pets or children in my home, so visiting dogs get my full attention. I’m comfortable hosting up to two small dogs from the same family, so bonded siblings can stay together. Otherwise, I only host one dog at a time, so your “only child” will have my complete attention, love, and care. I believe in respectful, positive-reinforcement style care and creating a relaxed, cozy home atmosphere where dogs can feel safe, cuddled, and understood.

Information Barbara M. would like to know about your pet
To make sure your pup has the safest and happiest stay, I like to learn as much as possible about them beforehand. Here are some helpful questions I’ll ask: Routine & Comfort • What is your dog’s daily routine (feeding, walks, bedtime)? • Are they crate-trained or free-roam at home? • Where do they usually sleep? • Do they like cuddles — or prefer a little space? Behavior & Personality • How do they react to new people, dogs, or noises? • Any separation anxiety? • Do they have any fears or triggers (storms, loud sounds, being touched in certain spots)? • Are they fully house-trained? Health & Care • Any medications or medical conditions? • Allergies or food sensitivities? • Mobility issues or senior-care needs? Rules & Training • What commands do they know? • Any behaviors I should be aware of (chewing, barking, guarding food, etc.)? • Are there household rules I should keep consistent (sofas, treats, etc.)? Walks & Safety • Are they comfortable on leash? • Do they ever try to pull, slip harnesses, or chase wildlife? • Are they microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines? And finally — what makes your dog happiest? I love knowing their favorite treats, toys, and routines so I can make their stay feel like a home-away-from-home.
A typical day
Morning starts with a gentle wake-up, cuddles, breakfast, and a nice walk or potty break to get the day going. We’ll enjoy relaxed strolls around my neighborhood so your pup can sniff, explore, and take in the world at their own pace. Throughout the day, your dog will get lots of companionship, playtime, and affection. That might include: ✨ Sniff-walks and potty breaks ✨ Enrichment toys or gentle play (tug, fetch, nose games) ✨ Quiet time and naps in comfy spots ✨ Training refreshers like sit/stay/recall if you’d like ✨ Soft cuddles and lots of sweet talk — I’m very affectionate! In the evenings we’ll wind down with another walk, dinner, and relaxation time together. I follow your dog’s routine as closely as possible so they feel safe, secure, and at home — and you’ll receive daily photo updates with a recap of how they’re doing so you can travel worry-free 💛 If your dog is a senior or prefers a slower rhythm, I happily adjust to a gentler pace with extra comfort.

Dog Lover Ready to Pamper Your Pup
Pet care experience
I’m a lifelong dog lover — the kind of person dogs run up to greet. I grew up around dogs and shared my life with a beautiful white Akita for years, who I still miss dearly. Because large dogs aren't allowed in my current building, I’ve decided to open my heart and home to small pups who need a safe, loving place to stay while their families travel. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else. That’s why I treat every dog like my own — with patience, kindness, affection, and a calm environment where they feel secure. I’m very attentive to routines, feeding schedules, and comfort needs, and I’m happy to send daily photo and message updates so you always know how your fur baby is doing. Your dog will get tons of cuddles, gentle care, and a sitter who genuinely adores animals.

Barbara was wonderful! Easy to organize with and pampered my beloved pup

Barbara est la candidate parfaite pour garder votre chien. Ma petite Alélie a passé du bon temps avec elle. Elle a eue toute l’attention de Barbara et elle était très relaxe quand je l’ai récupéré.

Thank you for taking great care of two little furbabies. Barbara was very kind and accommodating and had great communications. I would highly recommend and would book her again in the future
