Loving, personalized care!
Pets have been beloved family members for most of my life. I have had all ages, from pups to seniors. I've had every experience from house training, lightning/firework anxiety, giving shots and medications, to having a cat give birth in my lap! I have infinite patience and tend to be unfazed by much. I rescued my cat, Lulu, when I lived in Beijing and she has now lived with me in China, Texas, Russia, and now Arkansas. My Westie, Bonnie Brae, joined us last year and we are all enjoying the beautiful scenery and many birds who come to visit the yard. I believe in keeping animals safe, loved, and happy and arrange my routine to fit their needs. I am a newly retired elementary teacher with lots of patience and plenty of time for your pets! Home all day, I regularly walk my dog on the beautiful trails around Bella Vista and provide frequent supervised outdoor breaks. Both my pets love being brushed so much that it usually never makes it back to the drawer. Pets have full run of the house and are closely supervised/leashed when outdoors. I have a friendly 1.5 year old Westie who loves to play and I can offer dog park visits for off leash runs or leashed trail walks. I have a playpen and medium sized crate available if your pup prefers. My cat is a hider but comes out every now and then for some love--she retreats behind a baby gate when she needs a break from the dog. I can do drop-in cat feeding/litter box maintenance for cats and can even water your plants if you need.

Barbara’s great with Caly! She has a great yard for her to play in, has a sweet little westie dog for her to play with, and clearly loves animals! Caly is always super happy to see her and comes home tired, even the next day, which is excellent after our trips since we’re tired too! We’ve used Barbara twice now for some weekend trips and definitely trust her with our little lady! Thanks :)
Barbara was exceptional and took great care of our pup. She sent us pictures and commentary daily. We were never worried about our boy. Would definitely recommend
She was great with our puppy Caly!! Caly had a great time and was able to give her a lot of outdoor activity and fun! Bonnie also did great with our little baby!!
Barbara was a great sitter. We contacted her last minute and she did a great job loving our dog. She gave us daily updates, pics and videos. Her dog was so playful as well. Which was a bonus cuz our dog loves to play… and I think he met his match in playfulness!

A typical day
I love dog walking the trails around Bella Vista and Bentonville. I have lots of pet toys and chews on hand and a comfortable dog bed. (smallish--please bring your larger one or any favorite toys your pet has). My dog loves to play and will help keep yours entertained. She is also very gentle with shyer pups. I love on my pets as much as they'll allow--but terriers and independent cats don't allow too much so there's plenty more to give!
