Highlights
Pet care experience
Responsible, Attentive & Compassion
For the past three years, I've been caring full-time for my sister's cat, and part-time for her dog (Cocker Spaniel). But now my sister has moved somewhere new where she can have both pets, and as the cat and dog breeds I would most want to own are prohibitively expensive, I'd love the opportunity to care for yours. I also looked after my sister's dog while she was undergoing cancer treatment as a puppy. Those experiences taught me the importance of following care instructions closely, paying attention to changes in behavior, and providing patient, compassionate care. I have a B.A. in Psychology from USC, where I developed strong research skills, so I'm someone who enjoys learning about best practices to provide thoughtful care. As a preschool teacher, I've also learned that everyone is unique, and I always respect each family's routines and preferences. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. My family has also had bad experiences with house/pet sitters with our Yorkshire Terriers in the past so I am very sensitive to what it's like on the other side of things. It's also important me that you know that I will never hit or spank your animal. Not only am I uncomfortable with corporal punishment but I truly believe it is not only ineffective but harmful.
Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
I know that every pet has their own routine, personality, and needs, so my priority is to provide care that feels familiar and comfortable for them. I'll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, and any household routines you'd like me to maintain. I believe in giving pets plenty of attention, affection, and enrichment while also respecting their boundaries and comfort level. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while you're away. I also promise not to judge. I have dog-sat for one dog that would only eat if hand fed, and another dog that would only respond when you used a baby-voice, and another that only listens to commands in Spanish haha.

Schedule
I'm currently working part-time as a preschool teacher while I'm trying to transition to working into HR. I work from 9:00 am - 5:30 pm M, Tu, F near the UCI campus. W, Th, I am only busy for ~3 hours. I usually come straight home after work and Doordash dinner. I usually wake up at 7am and am asleep by 11-pm, but I am a light sleeper so if a pet starts to cry or stirs I will most likely hear it and be able to help with whatever caused them to wake up.
