I have been owned by Malamutes and Jack Russells since I was 18! (trust me that's been decades!) I've worked with dogs and horses for the majority of my life. The past 15 years, I've been involved with rescue work, assisting with fostering, transport, fundraising, assessing, rehabbing and adoptions. I have advocated for animals/wildlife my entire life! To say I love creatures is an understatement! I am comfortable with providing meds if needed, light walks and tons of love and general care! Give yourself peace of mind when you are away be it at work, or the weekend with having me assist you with continuing the love of your critter(s)! I also have a lifetime of experience with horses and can assist with ranch/farm sitting and care while you are away.

Safety, trust & environment
I always work with my clients to have as little disruption as possible for the animal(s). I will spend the time loving on them and making sure they have what is needed. Photos and texts (or a call) will be sent to each client, as I feel that is important. If you are gone and need me to come in multiple times, the same thing will hold true. While I do not offer overnights, I can do multiple check ins for extended times.

Barbara is AMAZING. She goes above and beyond for our dog. It is obvious that she really cares about animals and their well being. She took care of our dog for the first time this week and we will be using her services regularly from now on.
I have known Barbara for 31 years and can attest to her wonderful kindness and love for all animals. Many dogs and horses have always been part of her family. I've known Barbara for over 20 years, and she is synonymous with loving and caring for animals; in particular dogs, wolves and horses. She is an active member and leader within the rescue communities for these animals. I've known her to rescue animals in distress from the streets, make arrangements for their care and then follow through and monitor their placement. She is no doubt the kind of person that Rover needs for their pet caregiving network.
Barbara and I initially met through a dog rescue project many years ago. Her love and care for animals brought me my Chinook (who I have shared life with for many years). Throughout the years Barbara has helped heal my fur babies, has shared her knowledge unconditionally, and has been there to help in ways that most humans are not. If you are looking for a dependable, knowledgeable, and absolutely passionate human to help care for your animals Barbara is the one, hands down!
Barbara Joy exhibits knowledge of animal behavior to include canines and equines, adheres to community pet regulations, can deliver first aid and knows when to solicit advice of a veterinarian, can problem-solve, shows great patience and empathy towards all animals, is aware of stressful environments and adjusts to the animals' needs accordingly. She is flexible and dependable. Rover has received bad press with regards to some of their caregivers losing the animals under their care whether this be by design or their negligence. It is a caregiver and animal empath like Barb that will help turn this around.

Schedule
I'm an early morning person! I will be available to do 'check ins' throughout the day, light walks and will be doing pet sitting at your home, however, staying overnight would be difficult as I have a senior companion of my own! I do not set a schedule, as I feel those of us owned by a four legged buddy, may need assistance at an odd time. Face it every day they need us, and not everyone works a M-F schedule!
