Hello and welcome to Paws and Pooches Animal Rescue and Boarding. My name is Barbara. I am the Founder and President. I first would like to thank you for taking time out of your busy day to read my profile. Whether its your first time leaving your fur baby or your a seasoned traveler, hopefully I can ease your mind about leaving and trusting your fur baby with me and my family. So a little known fact about me is I Love Animals. Who knew right? Lol. I have been working with, taking care of, training, rescuing and rehabbing animals of all shapes, sizes and breeds for 25 yrs. Paws and Pooches is not only the name of my business but also the name of my rescue. I have worked with many different rescues over the years and to a different capacity with each one. I love working with and rescuing animals so much I started my own rescue in 2018. My mom and sister who I live with are also involved with the day to day caretaking of the animals in some way. I love taking in other peoples fur babies and giving them a temporary home while their owners are away. I do whatever is needed to make (s)he feel comfortable and relax and enjoy their time away as well. Between my mom, sister and I someone is home 24 hrs a day. No dog is ever left alone which is awesome for the doggies. My mom also has tons of animal experience in the doggy world as she has been a professional groomer for 26 yrs. She is happy to offer her service's to any fur baby that she can help make beautiful and handsome whether they book a stay with me or not. In addition to the 23 yrs of experience with animals, I also have my certification in animal pschycology. Its important to be able to know an animals body language and what it means so that you can know when they might be happy, sad, scared, or showing signs of aggression at which time I can stop that behavior before it escalates into something more. I like to make sure each dog is kept happy, content and rested. (It is their vacation to ya know lol) My boarders get the run of the house. I like to take the doggies on walks and let them run around in my yard that will soon be fenced in. When your baby stays with me you will get pupdates throughout the stay with a picture showing you how much fun they are having. My family just LOVES animals. Barbara was fantastic!! She loved on my two dachshunds while I was out of town for 6 days over Christmas 2021. Barbara was available when all of the nearby boarding facilities were full, and she made drop off and pick up super easy. She sent me cute updates of the dogs frequently, and was very thorough and quick to respond throughout the boys’ stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a sitter in the Harrison/Ooltewah or surrounding areas.
Our dogs were so happy and well taken care of! Barbara was so sweet and really understood our dogs anxiety and even made great recommendations to help. She really knows dogs and was so nice! Definitely would recommend.
Barbara was extremely friendly and communicative! Her texts and videos throughout the day really helped me feel at ease with leaving my pup for the first time! Highly recommend Barbara and her services to anyone looking for a dog sitter!
This was the first time ever leaving our girls. Barbara really eased our anxiety by providing lots of pictures and videos. We will definitely use her again!
I truly appreciated Barbara taking care of our fur boys, Oreo and Bear. Her pictures and videos were very comforting as this was an unplanned need and my first time using a home Boarding service. Our Oreo is very anxious and I was concerned about how he would do especially, Barbara was very patient with Oreo and I was very surprised to see my boy happy and allowing interaction with Barbara and her sweet dog. Barbara knows Dogs and will provide a loving alternative to the non-home Boarding services.
Barbara and her mom were so great with our pug Lucy! It was a few days before we left for 3 days and our sitter canceled so I’m happy we found Barbara! They gave Lucy so much love and attention and sent us plenty of pictures. Lucy is also on her lady time and they were very accommodating to that. She is not crate trained and only snuggles in bed so it was nice to find someone who allowed her to sleep with them. Would 100% book again!
