I work remotely in healthcare through telehealth, which allows me to work from anywhere with WiFi. Because of this, I’m typically home during the day and able to provide consistent presence and supervision for pets in my care. My scheduled patient hours are generally between 8:30am and 3:30pm, but I’m still physically present in the home during that time. This allows me to provide morning care, potty breaks, feeding, and check-ins throughout the day, depending on your pet’s needs. Since I don’t commute to an office, pets are rarely left alone for long periods of time. I also make sure they receive evening walks, playtime, companionship, and any medications they may need. I work best with pets who are already house-trained and comfortable relaxing while I work nearby during the day, while still receiving plenty of attention and care before and after my scheduled hours. My goal is to keep your pet’s routine as normal and comfortable as possible while you’re away. -Pets won’t be alone - I'm attentive to routine I’m also comfortable caring for multi-animal homes and small farm properties, and I treat both your pets and your home with the same responsibility and attention I would expect for my own.

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in a client’s home, my priority is keeping their routine and environment as normal as possible so they feel secure and relaxed while you’re away. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, and household routines. Consistency helps pets feel safe, so I aim to maintain the same structure they’re used to. As a healthcare professional, I’m naturally attentive and observant. I’m comfortable administering oral medications, topical medications, or injections, and I pay close attention to changes in appetite, behavior, energy level, or bathroom habits that could indicate something isn’t quite right. Safety is always a priority. I’m mindful of things like secure leashing, doors and gates, food safety, and keeping pets in their normal safe areas of the home. I also treat your home with great respect — keeping everything clean, organized, and well cared for while you’re away. While you’re gone, I’ll send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are safe and doing well. My goal is to provide calm, dependable care that helps both you and your pets feel completely at ease.

Information Barbara G. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for your pet, I like to learn as much as possible about their routine, personality, and needs so I can provide the best care while you're away. Helpful information includes: • Feeding schedule and portion sizes • Medication instructions, if applicable • Typical potty routine or outdoor schedule • Any fears, anxieties, or triggers • Energy level and favorite activities • Whether they are comfortable being left alone for short periods • Any health concerns or special monitoring needs • Emergency contact and preferred veterinarian I also like to know about house rules, such as furniture boundaries, sleeping arrangements, and any routines that help your pet feel comfortable. It’s also helpful to know if your pet has separation anxiety or behaviors such as excessive barking, scratching doors, chewing, or attempts to escape, so I can make sure I’m the right fit and provide the best possible care. The more I know about your pet ahead of time, the better I can maintain their normal routine and help them feel safe and relaxed while you’re away.

A typical day

A typical day with pets in my care focuses on keeping their routine consistent, comfortable, and low-stress. The day usually begins with morning feeding, fresh water, and time outside for potty breaks and fresh air, depending on your pet’s usual routine. Because I work remotely in healthcare through telehealth, I’m typically present in the home during the day, which allows pets to have companionship and supervision rather than being left alone for long periods. Many pets enjoy relaxing nearby while I work, and I take breaks throughout the day for check-ins, outdoor time, and play. If a home has a yard, dogs can enjoy regular outdoor time to stretch their legs and explore, along with play and attention. In the afternoon and evening, I focus on playtime, attention, and relaxed companionship, helping pets wind down and feel comfortable while you’re away. For cats or quieter pets, the day often includes interactive play, brushing, and calm companionship, always respecting their individual personalities. If medications or special care are needed, I make sure those are given carefully and on schedule. My goal is for pets to feel safe, relaxed, and cared for while maintaining the routine they’re used to at home.

Pet care experience

Hi! I’m Barbara, a responsible healthcare professional who genuinely enjoys caring for animals. I provide reliable, attentive pet care in the comfort of your pet’s own home so they can stay relaxed and maintain their normal routine while you’re away. Because of my medical background, I’m especially comfortable caring for senior pets and pets who require medications, injections, or closer monitoring. I’m naturally calm, observant, and detail-oriented, so if something seems “off,” I’m quick to notice and respond appropriately. Many pet parents appreciate the extra peace of mind this provides. My goal is to help your pets feel safe, relaxed, and cared for while keeping life as normal as possible. I focus on maintaining their usual routines, providing companionship, making sure they eat well, get exercise, and receive plenty of attention. I also treat every home with the same respect and care I would expect for my own. Cleanliness, organization, and reliability are very important to me. While you’re away, I’ll send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are happy and doing well. I work best with pets who are already house-trained. I’m happy to reinforce good habits, but I do not take on active potty-training cases. I’m also comfortable caring for multi-pet households and small farm-style properties, including dogs, cats, chickens, pigs, and other animals that need dependable care while their owners are away. My schedule allows me to spend quality time with your pets, not just quick drop-ins. I want them to feel comfortable, secure, and well cared for until you return. I’m always happy to schedule a meet-and-greet beforehand so you and your pets can feel completely comfortable. Why clients choose me: • Healthcare professional — responsible and highly observant • Experienced with medications and injections • Comfortable with senior pets and pets needing extra care • Reliable, detail-oriented, and calm • Respectful of your home and routines • Comfortable caring for multiple animals or farm-style homes • Regular photo and message updates while you’re away • Focused on keeping pets relaxed, safe, and on their normal routine My goal is simple: for you to travel with peace of mind and for your pets to feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for until you return.

Barbara did a great job. I told her my routines including treats and hugs. She followed up with pictures to remind me that they are enjoying the time with her. Webster and Ellie asked me when Barbara was coming back! (pinky swear)

If you are looking for a sitter who can handle a literal zoo with grace, look no further! We threw a lot at Barbara—dogs, cats, mini donkeys, and even a goat—and she handled them all like a pro. But the real test was our pig. To be fair, she had zero 'swine experience' going in, and our pig definitely knew it. He made it his mission to drive her absolutely bananas, but she didn’t crack! She was patient, attentive, and somehow managed to keep everyone happy and fed. It’s not every day you find someone willing to referee a pig while making sure the donkeys get their ear scratches. We came home to a very calm farm and happy animals. We’ll definitely be booking her again—if the pig hasn't scared her off for good

Barbara is our go-to for our two dogs. It’s a huge relief knowing they are in such capable and loving hands when we’re not around. She is incredibly responsible, easy to communicate with, and just a genuinely great person to work with. Our pups absolutely layout the red carpet for her whenever she arrives!
