Information Barbara E. would like to know about your pet

Before pet sitting, I gather essential information to ensure each pet's well-being. This includes learning their names, breeds, ages, and any unique traits. I obtain emergency contacts, including the owner and veterinarian, and review the pets' medical history, noting conditions, allergies, and medication details. I familiarize myself with their feeding schedules, exercise needs, bathroom routines, and general temperament, including their likes, dislikes, and fears. Additionally, I learn any training commands they follow and the house rules regarding where they can go. This thorough preparation helps me provide the best care possible.

A typical day

Caring for animal pets involves a daily routine to ensure their health, happiness, and well-being. Here’s an example of a typical day: 1. Feeding: Provide species-appropriate food tailored to their age and dietary needs. 2. Water: Ensure fresh water is always available. Clean and refill their water bowls. 3. Exercise: Take dogs for a walk and let them play in the yard. Engage cats or other pets in interactive play to keep them active. 4. Clean Up: Scoop the litter box for cats, clean cages for birds or small mammals, and tidy up any messes. 5. Check-In: Assess your pets’ comfort and ensure they have everything they need. 6. Social Interaction: Spend quality time with your pets through play, cuddles, or simply sitting with them to provide social enrichment. 7. Additional Exercise: If needed, take dogs for another walk or engage cats in more playtime. 8. Playtime: Engage in interactive play to help burn off excess energy. 9. Wind Down: Create a calm environment to help your pets relax and prepare for bedtime. 10. Bedtime Routine: Ensure your pets are comfortable in their sleeping areas, and take dogs out for a final bathroom break. 11. Safety Check: Verify that the house is pet-proofed—secure doors, prevent access to unsafe areas, and ensure harmful substances are out of reach. 12. Health Monitoring: Regularly check for any signs of illness or distress and consult a veterinarian if necessary.

Barbara cared for my little Morkie, Ruby, for two weeks while I was travelling. It is always worrying to leave your pet at a new location, but Barbara made her stay a pleasure and sent daily updates to me. Ruby had a great time. I have already booked Ruby for another stay later this year. I would highly recommend Barbara as an excellent dog sitter.

The space was clean, and our normally anxious cats were relaxed when we picked them up.
