I will rearrange my daily schedule to take the best care of your pet(s). I carefully plan my day to meet with all my pet sitting clients on my schedule. I allow time to take care of unexpected messes, such as bear raiding garbage cans during long absences.

I have a dog crate and smaller carriers to use in my car should I need to transport your pet to go for a walk in a nearby park or a trip to your vet. I will approach your pet gently when entering your home. I will play with them, provide their meals and fresh water, take them for walks with baggies and/or clean litter boxes daily. I will follow your routine to help your pets feel secure in your absence. I will groom the pets if they accept such care.

A typical day
I will play with your dog with the favorite toys. We will go for a walk and explore his usual territory and possibly discover new places to visit. With cats, I ask the owners about their favorite toys or activities. I have introduced playing with wands with some of my single cat clients and they now choose to play before eating with I visit.

Pet care experience
While I grew up with beagles and then German Shepherds, I adopted my first cat when I was 25. Since then, I have loved more than 30 cats, usually have more than one at a time. I have taken care of dogs of my family and friends since I was a teenage babysitter. I'm a Reiki Master Teacher and I can offer Reiki for pets which may explain while pets tend to sit on my feet when I am with them

Barbara was incredibly communicative and accommodating, even with our last-minute request for sitting for our two cats. She took wonderful care of our cats and even shoveled after it snowed! She also picked up litter from the store for us because we were running low. She really went the extra mile and we’ll be requesting her again!

Barbara was absolutely wonderful as a cat sitter! She was flexible with timing, extremely caring with our cat, and stayed in close communication throughout. She even arranged a last-minute in-person meet-and-greet before we went away, which gave us so much peace of mind. When our cat’s medication didn’t arrive on time, she was incredibly resourceful and handled the situation calmly and thoughtfully. She was also very detailed in her notes, which helped us feel connected and reassured while we were away. It was such a relief knowing our cat was in such capable, compassionate hands. Highly recommend her!
