I am retired from nursing and spend most of my time @ home reading/quilting. I have recently lost both my dogs to cancer, but my days were enjoyed focusing on their walks and play time.

I have a fenced yard (5' tall) and always accompanied my dogs outside. We also went for walks twice daily. They enjoyed hikes in nearby Staunton State Park twice a week. Also have an XL crate if your dog is crate trained. Mine were not and spent their time next to me on the couch. I also have several dog beds in the bedroom.

Need to know medications/routines and any other medical issues. Are there any fears/anxieties? For thunder we turn on fans/music and simply sit together 'til the storm has passed.
A typical day
Enjoying walks twice daily, hikes in nearby Staunton State Park often. Several dog toys to enjoy, and a safe fenced yard to chase the balls. Lots of personal attention on the couch!

Pet care experience
I have loved several german shepherds and labradors over the years. We enjoyed doing obedience classes and hiking many trails together. I also have a medical background and can manage meds.

Barbara is incredible! She is so understanding and kind. Bucky was very anxious when getting settled and she was so patient with him. Cant recommend her enough.
Annie seemed to have a great time with Barbara. I didn't get any complaints. I got regular updates and pictures of Annie. Every note completely described my dog so I'm sure she got the best treatment. Relatively convenient location and easy dropoff and pickup. I felt like Annie was in good hands the whole time. Barb is heaven sent for our Ranger! Ranger is an older German Shepherd that has many nutrition and supplement needs. Barb has no problem figuring out how to manage it all. Her home is the perfect environment where he is more loved and has more fun than he does at home! Barb is incredible!
