Availability
I work at a Farm Market from mid-June through October, so during that time frame I'm unable to commit to mid-day care. I am available mornings and evenings. From November to mid-June, my schedule is very open.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety is my number one concern! I use my own equipment which includes an additional collar with a clip that goes to the leash so that if one collar fails, the dog is still attached. My years of rescue have shown me how easy a dog can slip a collar, or a buckle can come apart. I am also very conscious of doors, and making sure a pet cannot get out.
Information Barbara B. would like to know about your pet
Letting me know of any special needs your pet may have is very helpful. Always appreciate any and all information that helps me care for your pets.
A typical day
I like to make walks fun for dogs. If there are nice trails to walk that are safe, I always enjoy the scenery. If yard turnout, I play fetch with toys.

Pet care experience
I have loved all animals since I was a small child. I’ve had multiple dogs throughout my life who were all rescues of various ages. I was also blessed to have had the most wonderful horse for 24 years. I have spent the last 35 years working with rescues, (25 years specifically German Shepherds) but have fostered everything from Chihuahuas to Mastiffs. If they have 4 legs (or wings or fins) I love them! I volunteered for a no-kill shelter for 15 years, caring for all types of animals, going to adoption events and also coordinating fundraising. During that time I also became involved with German Shepherd rescue. For the last 25 years, I have fostered and nursed many dogs through serious illnesses (canine flu/pneumonia) that came out of animal control facilities so I’m very comfortable with administering medicine, injections and any special needs a pet may have. One of my foster dogs had to have both her hips done and there was a lot of very specific care and time that went into her rehabilitation. I treat all animals as if they were my own and go the extra mile. I share my home with a fiesty German Shepherd. Please contact me with any questions about availability.

Reviews

Barb is fantastic with my kitties. She not only pops in she takes extra time to play with them, too. Love receiving the photos of them as well. Highly recommend Barb!

Loved the updates and the pictures. So relieved they did well. Happy with the drop in visit this afternoon. Looking forward to future visits after using Rover. Thank you Barbara!

Barbara was great with my dog and 2 cats. She spent time with them, made sure they had food, water, and my dog her meds. She cleaned up after them and took great care of them all. Would definitely recommend and use her again!

Wonderful to work with!
