I've have a life time of experience of caring for pets with a variety of different personalities and needs. My first pet was a cat that my family adopted when I was in elementary school. A few months after I first cat, we got a second one. Both were originally strays. We loved our two cats but we really wanted a dog to run and play with in the backyard. So, in addition to our two cats, we adopted a large dog from the animal welfare society. Due to his past, he would often bite people, including children, until they bled. Being that there were young children in the home, my parents eventually decided we couldn't keep him, but he stayed in our hearts. A few years later we adopted a shitzu who had been born on a farm. He was our love and light and was a beloved part of our family for 14 years before he passed away in 2019. I was shattered. I no longer have any pets who live with me but my sister recently adopted two kittens who I love as my own. The opportunity to care for your pets would bring even more love and light intto my life.
