Love all animals, big or small!
I have a Bachelors degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University and am currently studying to be a veterinary technician. I also have my own dog and cat that I care for. I have done a lot of training with my dog and have taken several animal behavior courses during my time at Iowa State and am familiar with behavior. In addition, how to recognize behavior and how to handle anxious or fearful dogs without causing them more stress and fear. Additionally, I currently work as a veterinary assistant, so I have experience in caring for all kinds of animals and how to give various medications as well. Before working as a veterinary assistant, I had worked and volunteer at other animal clinics (total of 8 years), so I have been in this field of pet care for a while.

Safety, trust & environment
I like to gage your pets comfort level and what they are okay with. If they are a couch potato and don’t like to go for walks or aren’t big on playing with toys, then I will hang out with them and give them lots of pets/attention. If your pet is really active and loves to go for walks and/or play with toys, then I will take them for a walk or play with them with their favorite toy(s). If your pet is a little anxious and unsure of people, I will work on gaining your pets trust without stressing them out more and let them be and come up to me when they are comfortable doing so.

Awnna was awesome. Our cat became ill during our trip out of state. Awnna reported that our cat wasn't acting well and when requested got her to the emergency vet on a holiday. It was a situation nobody wants but Awnna handled it perfectly.
Awnna was able to babysit our cat with short notice on a holiday, we really appreciate her amazing communication and the attention and care she gave our anxious cat! Also gave him meds during that time. Thank you Awnna!
Awnna is super dependable and flexible. our scaredy cat has fully claimed her lap for attention which is a huge thing. Poor Awnna - Dookie is a shedder!!
Made things easy for us. Came to meet our dog before. Made all drop in visits exactly when scheduled. Gave him a little extra play time while there. Our dog gets very anxious in other people’s homes so bringing him with isn’t much of an option anymore so we were very grateful for him to be able to stay home. Things seemed to go smoothly, we will be happy to use Awnna again.
Awnna is very reliable and I appreciate her going above and beyond to give excellent care to our two cats.
Awnna took excellent care of my cat when I was on vacation! I booked her last minute after a cancellation and as a first time rover user for my pet, she exceeded expectations and provided peace of mind. She sent thorough updates and plenty of photos through the report card. She was very accommodating to my pets needs and gave her plenty of love in my absence. 100% would book her again for any future pet sitting needs. Highly recommended!

Schedule
I currently work as a veterinary assistant full time, so pet care is a big part of my daily and weekly routine. Additionally, I have my own dog and cat that I care for on a daily basis, but I’d love to care for your pet too before I go to work, and/or after I get off of work.
