Pet care experience

Your dog’s new best friend is here!

Hi, I’m Avry! What sets me apart from your average pet sitter is my professional background. I spent over a year working at a local, small business dog daycare and boarding facility, which means your furry family member isn't just getting a companion—they’re getting someone trained in professional pack management, safety protocols, and diverse canine behaviors. I have a deep, lifelong love for all animals and genuinely treat them like human members of the family. Whether your pup needs high-energy playtime or quiet, patient comfort, I adapt completely to their vibe. My Hands-On Expertise Includes: Puppy Prodigy: Patient care and routine-building for the littlest ones. Senior & Special Needs Comfort: Experienced in gentle handling for aging or injured dogs. Medication Management: Confident and precise with oral or topical medical needs. Energy Matching: From exhausting the high-energy athletes to cuddling the low-energy couch potatoes. Reliable & Trusted: I currently manage weekday care for a private family, seamlessly blending their dog's routine into my daily schedule (even bringing them to work with me!). When your pet is with me, they get the structure and safety of a professional handler combined with the cozy, one-on-one affection in their own home. I can't wait to meet your best friend(s)!

Safety, trust & environment

Safety isn't a afterthought for me—it's my background. Having spent over a year working in a high-volume dog daycare and boarding facility, I am professionally trained in canine body language, pack management, and emergency safety protocols. I know how to spot the subtle signs of stress, fatigue, or illness before they become issues. Whether administering time-sensitive medication, caring for an injured pup, or supervising playtime, I apply professional facility-grade safety standards to every single pet in my care. You can rest easy knowing your dog is in hands that know exactly what to do in any situation." Quick Bullet Points to Include: Canine Body Language: Professionally trained to read dog behavior and prevent conflicts before they start. Medication & Injury Care: Fully confident and experienced in administering oral/topical medications and managing pups recovering from injuries. Constant Supervision: Pups are never left unattended in situations where safety could be compromised. Open Communication: I provide transparent, honest updates and photos so you are always in the loop.

Avry has been nothing short of amazing with my two boys. She has such a big heart for dogs and is beyond an amazing dog sitter. She watches my two all the time on short notice when I have to leave for work. Would highly recommend her in a heartbeat.

Schedule

Because I lead an active and structured life, I thrive on routine—and so do dogs! I don't just 'fit' your pup into my schedule; they become a seamless part of my daily rhythm. Whether I’m working, opening shifts, or running errands, your dog receives dedicated, high-quality attention. I treat my busy days as opportunities for structured walks, mental stimulation, and perfectly timed potty breaks, ensuring your pup is never just waiting around, but actively cared for and loved. Consistency is Key: I mirror your dog's exact feeding, medication, and bathroom schedule, blending it perfectly with my own daily routines. Built-In Companionship: My schedule includes dedicated 'pup-first' blocks for high-energy exercise, structured decompression time, and plenty of belly rubs. On-the-Go Care: With my background, I’m an expert at managing time. Your dog gets a dynamic day filled with attention, not a lonely day waiting by the door. Proactive Communication: Even on my busiest days, you’ll receive regular photo updates and check-ins so you never have to wonder how your best friend is doing.

The first and easiest thing to discover about a pet is their name, age, size, and breed. Other than that, I believe the following are important: 1. Health & Medical Needs Safety first. If a dog has a medical condition, you need to know how to handle it before you're left alone with them. Medications: Do they take any? What is the exact dosage, schedule, and the best trick to get them to take it (e.g., wrapped in cheese, buried in pill pockets)? Allergies: Are they allergic to specific foods or environmental things (like bee stings)? Vet Information: What is their preferred vet clinic, and where is the nearest emergency vet? (It’s also smart to ask if they have a vet release form or a limit on unauthorized medical spend in an emergency). 2. Behavioral Triggers & Quirks Since you tailor your day to their personality, you need to know what makes them tick—and what ticks them off. Reactivity: How do they react to other dogs, cats, birds, or strangers while on a walk? Are they prone to lunging or barking? Triggers: Are they afraid of loud noises (thunder, fireworks), skateboards, bicycles, or men? Resource Guarding: Do they get aggressive over food, toys, or high-value treats? (Crucial if you have other pets around). Separation Anxiety: How long can they comfortably be left alone? Do they whine, bark, or destroy things when you leave? 3. The Daily Routine & Habits To replicate their normal day, get the logistics down. Feeding Schedule: How much food, how many times a day, and at what exact times? Do they have a "waiting" command before eating? Bathroom Routine: What is their signal that they need to go out? If it’s a dog, are they fully house-trained, or should you expect accidents? If it’s a cat, where is the litter box and how often do they want it scooped? Sleeping Arrangements: Where do they sleep at night? (In a crate, in their own bed, or on the human bed with you?) 4. Walking & Exercise Style Walking a dog you don't know can be unpredictable. Leash Manners: Do they pull? Do they use a specific harness, collar, or gentle leader? Escape Artistry: Are they prone to slipping out of collars or bolting out the front door? Command Words: What words do they actually know?
