Hi, I’m Avery! I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life and currently care for my own senior dog, so I’m very comfortable with pups who need extra patience, gentleness, and attention. I also work at the local Humane Society, where I care for dogs of all kinds with all kinds of needs, including reactive dogs, shy dogs, and dogs who need help with medications or special feeding routines, and I’ve handled dogs as small as 2 pounds and as big as 150 pounds. I understand how important routines, meds, and calm handling are, especially for senior dogs or dogs with special needs. I’ve been dog sitting consistently for about five years, through high school and into college, and I truly treat every dog like my own. As a dog mom myself, I completely understand wanting lots of updates and reassurance while you’re away, so I’m very communicative and happy to send frequent photos and updates so you always know your dog is safe and doing well, and my goal is always to make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m happy to accommodate you and your pup in any needs that you might have!

Avery was absolutely incredible, and we truly couldn’t recommend her more highly. We have anxious, reactive dogs, so finding someone we feel completely comfortable leaving them with is not always easy. From the beginning, Avery’s experience and training in dog behavior immediately put us at ease. She understood our dogs, respected their individual needs, and was such a calm, confident presence for them. Even when some unexpected things came up in Avery’s personal life during our trip, she still went above and beyond to make sure our dogs were cared for and that we felt reassured. Her communication was wonderful, and as admittedly anxious dog parents, it meant so much to know they were in such capable and caring hands. It’s very clear that Avery genuinely understands dogs, especially dogs who may need a little extra patience and support. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pups, and we would trust her with them again in a heartbeat. We feel incredibly lucky to have found her!
Avery was the best with Tino! She was able to accommodate him very last minute, and he was so happy with her. I really appreciate her flexibility and would definitely book with her again!
We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Chubbs! Avery is the best! She took such amazing care of him and kept us updated the entire time. Chubbs got to go on walks, got pup cups, and had so many fun adventures. I honestly don’t think he even wanted to come home! It was obvious he was loved and treated like part of the family. I highly recommend Avery to anyone looking for someone who will truly care for their pup as their own!
Avery was so great. She kept in contact with us the whole time we were out of town and gave us updates and photos of our pets. Would love to have her again to watch Ozzy and Django!

Schedule
I am home from college all summer and my schedule is extremely open! I will be able to put my full attention on the pet or pets that I am taking care of!

I prioritize safety, trust, and a calm environment in both my home and a client’s home!I always follow the pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and any special instructions.

A typical day
I Love to exercise dogs, both physically and mentally! Depending on the dog’s breed and age, I provide multiple walks a day along with mental enrichment activities to keep them happy and engaged. In the summer, I make sure to walk dogs early in the morning and later in the evening so they aren’t out in the heat of the day, since I know that can be hard on their paws. I also keep a consistent feeding routine every day so they always know what to expect. I plan on devoting my day to the dog I’m caring for, and while I’m home for the summer I don’t have other responsibilities besides caring for my own dog, so I will be fully present and dedicated.
