Information Avery C. would like to know about your pet

I would love to know about your pet’s behavior ahead of time any favorite activities, weird quirks, what kind of exercise they enjoy, how they are on leash, and any medications they take.

A typical day

I Love to exercise dogs, both physically and mentally! Depending on the dog’s breed and age, I provide multiple walks a day along with mental enrichment activities to keep them happy and engaged. In the summer, I make sure to walk dogs early in the morning and later in the evening so they aren’t out in the heat of the day, since I know that can be hard on their paws. I also keep a consistent feeding routine every day so they always know what to expect. I plan on devoting my day to the dog I’m caring for, and while I’m home for the summer I don’t have other responsibilities besides caring for my own dog, so I will be fully present and dedicated.

Pet care experience

Hi, I’m Avery! I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life and currently care for my own senior dog, so I’m very comfortable with pups who need extra patience, gentleness, and attention. I also work at the local Humane Society, where I care for dogs of all kinds with all kinds of needs, including reactive dogs, shy dogs, and dogs who need help with medications or special feeding routines, and I’ve handled dogs as small as 2 pounds and as big as 150 pounds. I understand how important routines, meds, and calm handling are, especially for senior dogs or dogs with special needs. I’ve been dog sitting consistently for about five years, through high school and into college, and I truly treat every dog like my own. As a dog mom myself, I completely understand wanting lots of updates and reassurance while you’re away, so I’m very communicative and happy to send frequent photos and updates so you always know your dog is safe and doing well, and my goal is always to make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away.

Avery was very sweet and Chino loved playing with his new friends! Thank you Avery for allowing me to go away for the weekend and not worry about my boy even one time!

Avery is truly amazing! She took wonderful care of our pups and went above and beyond, providing updates multiple times a day. Our dogs are very clingy seniors, so we were nervous about leaving them with anyone, but Avery made us feel completely at ease. For the first time, we didn’t have to worry about our dogs while we were away. We are so grateful we found her. Thank you, Avery!

Avery is amazing! I cannot recommend her enough. She showed such care with our 2 dogs. We have a german shepherd and a pug, both very different energy types, and Avery was able to satisfy both their needs daily. Avery is very observant. Our pug had a medical issue while under her care and she recognized it immediately and contacted us right away. I don’t even know if I would have caught it in time, but I’m forever thankful she did. This is just one example of the type of care Avery provides. If you’re looking for someone who will ACTIVELY care for your dogs, more than just supervising, Avery is your girl! Thank you Avery!

We have used Avery for several years to take care of our dogs and have recommended her to all our friends who are equally as happy to have her in our lives as we are. Avery is not only a wonderful "pet friend", but she is a true gem of a person who brings so much joy and her A game every time we interact with her. On the phone, via txt, or especially in person. She is always happy and very responsive. As a very busy family, it can not be overstated how helpful crucial she has been for our family and especially for our 4 legged family. We could not recommend her more highly.
