Hi! My name is Avery and I would love to take care of your pet(s)! I have been pet sitting for 10 years now and absolutely love it (even when it gets messy)! I have 2 years of experience volunteering at a veterinary clinic as well as a plethora of years volunteering at my hometown SPCA, before I moved here for college. I have cared for cats and dogs (and fish!), big and small, puppies/kittens to senior pets, and special needs animals. I firmly believe in giving your pets the time and love they deserve and will be happy to keep them company, exercise and play with them, and give lots and lots of pets. I can’t wait to meet you and your pets and to take great care of them!

At home in the city, I have just my cat here, though my puppy often comes down for visits. I live near several parks, and like most of dc, a very walkable area. It is also comforting to know that I live down the block from emergency services. I believe trust is the #1 most important thing in the relationship from pet parent to caregiver. As such I would be more than happy to meet with you prior to pet sitting, so we can both get to know each other and I can get to know more about your pet and their routines and needs. In that same vein, I will never bring another individual to your home with me without first talking with you and explaining why they might need to be with me. And in case you might be missing your fur baby, I am happy to send lots of photos and videos of them fun we might be having!

As a student, I work part-time as a lifeguard (emergency skills ;), so I usually have plenty of free time. My classes have worked out that I would have time to stop by, if needed, in the mornings, afternoons, and early evenings and I am particularly free during the weekends. I do have a car in the city that I can use to make transportation easier and quicker as well.

- No ask is too big or small as far as your preferences and your pets routine goes. Be as much of a helicopter pet parent as you need to be, I completely understand! For any bigger asks, I would prefer to know ahead of time. Especially if your pet has a medication schedule to follow, or they need treatment done in a specific way. I just want to be prepared to provide your pet with the best care possible.
