Availability
I work part-time at Mac Tabby Cat Café in downtown Concord. My shifts are anywhere from 4-8 hours long and I receive my schedule 1-3 months in advance. Reach out to me and I will let you know if I am scheduled for any shifts on any of the dates you are interested in booking me on. I update my calendar to reflect bookings, family events, doctor's appointments, etc. I tend to book up fairly quickly, so be sure to request and confirm a booking as soon as you are able; however, last-minute bookings are welcome surprises that I am sometimes able to work in, especially if there has been a cancellation or a booking has been left unconfirmed.

Information Ava S. would like to know about your pet
Before I care for your loved one(s) please give me a detailed description of their greeting, walking, eating, playing, sleeping, and troublemaking (if applicable) habits. I would love to meet with you and your pet(s) before you book with me to discuss your expectations, answer any questions that you may have, and to ease both you and your pet(s) into the booking. Meeting is especially beneficial to those who are feeling anxious about leaving their pet(s) behind. I have met with several individuals and families who have expressed how much better they have felt after meeting, especially first-time pet owners and/or first-time Rover users. I am happy to walk you through the process. It can also be helpful to meet for a second time closer to your departure or even as you depart if you have a particularly anxious or uncertain pet so that they understand that you have allowed me to stay with them and they feel safe.
A typical day
Please let me know what activities your pet(s) enjoy! I am happy to take them for a walk, play tug o' war, bring out a feather wand, toss a ball around, set out a paper bag, sit and watch a favorite TV show with them, set up a food puzzle, play hide & seek games with treats or toys... anything to make them feel happy and comfortable. I know how important routine can be for them!

We go above & BEYOND!
Pet care experience
Hi! We are a friendly, dependable, communicative, responsible, honest, and well-organized couple who have been adoring and connecting with animals all of our lives. If you're looking for double the knowledge, experience, passion, and love for your pet, look no further. We will go above and beyond! We are currently living in a townhome in Kannapolis with our cats, dachshund mix, and gerbils. Ava began pet sitting at the age of 13, thanks to a few handmade flyers she'd posted around town; however, according to family, she started letting their dogs out to potty just about as soon as she was able to walk to the door, still in diapers. She grew up on a small farm with a rabbit, horses, goats, chickens, birds, and fish. She is currently taking online classes at Stanly Community College and would like to one day become a therapist. She has worked as a zookeeper tending to bears, owls, raccoons, skunks, chinchillas, lizards, venomous snakes, etc. at a small zoo, and as the sole receptionist and a bather at an award-winning grooming salon where she was responsible for transactions, scheduling, record-keeping, virtual and in-person exchanges with clients, closing, bathing, holding and calming aggressive or anxious dogs, walking dogs to and from their owners and designated areas, etc She is currently working part-time at Mac Tabby Cat Café in downtown Concord. Her shifts are anywhere from 4-8 hours long, and she receives her schedule 1-3 months in advance. David grew up with dogs and cats, and his love for them, and all animals, and his passion for understanding their behaviors has only grown stronger and stronger over time. He works the night shift as an inventory clerk at Gordon Food Service. Note (if you are boarding): Because his and Ava's schedules are almost opposite of one another, there will almost always be someone home with your pet(s). Ava always does a wonderful job taking care of my fur babies!!

Ava was absolutely amazing. We just moved to the area and were looking for someone to watch our two dogs for our weekend trip. We were super nervous since our one dog Roscoe can be nervous with new people. He liked Ava almost instantly and Ava listened to every one of our concerns. She gave us the reassurance we needed to make sure we felt at ease while being away. She was patient and had awesome communication while we were away. We also have two guinea pigs and a hermit crab that she checked in on as well. We are super grateful that we found Ava. We will definitely be requesting her again in the future.

Amazing!
