I have always been an extremely enthusiastic animal lover and have spent nine years working as a veterinary assistant. Not only have I been able to exercise my love for animals but I've also been able to learn about different medical aspects of owning a pet including nutrition, post-surgical care and various diseases. Throughout my experience, I have gained an even deeper love and appreciation for the bond between pets and their owners and would like to continue to provide the care and compassion your little one deserves. I am very comfortable with all breeds and can administer medication for special needs pets. I also have a particular fondness for "seniors" as they require special love and care. I look forward to meeting your pet.

Safety, trust & environment
I will follow a pet parent's care instructions carefully to reinforce training, reinforce familiarity, and instill trust between myself, the pet, and owner. I am also keen on picking up on a pet's body language to see how comfortable they are having a new person around. Safety is always a top priority so if a shy pet needs time to warm up to me, then I will be a calm friend who won't rush into petting until the pet is ready in their own time.

I knew my pets were in good hands with Ava, and that kind of peace of mind is priceless. Before I left for my trip, Ava made it a priority to come over for a walk-through and make sure she was confident in all of the tasks. I have an elderly rabbit who needs medicine multiple times a day, and felt assured that Ava was up to the task. She sent photos every evening along with a written update on all of the pets. In the photos, you could tell that all of the animals were comfortable around her. I would highly recommend Ava to anyone looking for a dependable and thorough sitter for their babies. Ava came for an intro visit with my rabbit Harvey and did great! Rabbits can take a while to warm up to people, but she was well on her way. She's super nice and personable too!

Schedule
I currently have a unique work schedule that allows me to have all afternoons (around lunch-time) free along with fully free weekends. Because of my flexibility I am able to help people with their pets when I am needed.
