Availability
I work from home, which allows me to have a flexible daily routine and be available throughout the day for pet care! I can easily fit drop in visits and house sitting into my schedule, and I am able to provide consistent attention, check ins, and companionship. I do travel occasionally for work, so I keep my calendar updated and recommend confirming availability in advance. I am typically only able to accept bookings up to one month in advance, as that is when my schedule is fully solidified. Outside of that, I am available during both weekdays and weekends and can adjust my schedule to meet your pet’s needs.

You can expect plenty of updates and photos while you are away! I know how important it is to stay connected to your pets. A typical visit includes feeding, fresh water, litter box or potty care, playtime, and quality one on one attention tailored to your pet’s personality. For cats, this might mean interactive play or simply quiet companionship. For dogs, I focus on maintaining their normal routine and making sure they get the attention and care they are used to.

Pet care experience
I have a lifelong background caring for animals and have experience with dogs of all sizes as well as cats of all personalities! I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Angelo State University and my Master’s degree in Marketing from Texas A&M University (gig 'em!) which gave me a strong academic foundation in animal health, behavior, and care. I have also gained hands-on experience assisting in emergency veterinary environments and interning at the Dallas Zoo. Through this experience, I have developed the ability to read animal behavior, recognize signs of stress or illness, and safely administer medications when needed. I am especially attentive to senior pets and those who may need extra patience and care. As a cat owner myself, I am very comfortable with feline care, including litter box maintenance, administering medication, and working with both social and more independent cats.

Ava did an amazing job taking care of our new puppy. We were nervous at first but she helped a lot by sending pics and communicating with me throughout the day. I'm so happy we decided to book with Ava. We will definitely use her services again!
