I'm currently a part-time college student and artist, so that leaves me with a lot of time to love on your animals! My schedule tends to be very flexible and I’m more than happy to work around odd hours if needed.

I believe a cornerstone of every good pet-sitting experience is clear communication. I try to establish a clear routine, list of individual needs, and emergency contacts before appointments. I will always provide detailed updates on your animals and as many cute pictures as is desired! I will also establish specific instructions and boundaries regarding your home to ensure that you have peace of mind while you are away. I’m not offering boarding at this time, but I’m more than happy to come to you!

Again, I’m more than willing to meet many individual needs as long as we discuss it thoroughly during our meet and greet! I have had animals of my own that need regular topical/oral medication, so I am very comfortable administering these forms of medication. I also have some basic grooming/bathing experience with double coated and shorthair dogs, and I’d be happy to bathe and brush your animal as requested (I ask that owners provide materials).
A typical day
My favorite part of this job is that no animal is exactly the same. I have fun learning all of the things that makes your animal the whole of who they are. I will discuss any particular needs for your animal during a meet and greet beforehand, but I also pay special attention during visits to body language/behavior to better understand your pet’s personal boundaries (or lack thereof) and how to best get along with them! I am more than happy to accommodate walks, games, or other activities. For an animal who is more laid back, I am just as happy to quietly dote/brush/feed/talk to your animals in order to keep them company. For an animal who likes more personal space, I enjoy sharing a quiet room or backyard while I draw them in my sketchbook, talk to them, and tend to any requests.

As a long-time animal lover and caregiver, I understand how important it is to leave your critter with someone who will do their best to know them and fulfill their needs with same compassion that you do. Therefore, thoughtful and individualized care is always my top priority. My expertise is mainly with dogs, but I've also cared for cats, horses, gerbils, and other animals of all kinds. I spent much of my childhood around dog breeders, horse trainers, and every animal lover in between. It was through this that animal welfare and husbandry was impressed upon me as the ultimate responsibility. Senior/special needs cats & dogs have always filled my cup in a very big way. As a kid, I wanted to be a veterinarian, and spent a lot of time studying the health and care needed for my animal friends. Because every animal ages, I believe we owe them a special debt for the time they have shared with us and deserve the best care we can offer. That being said, I'm happy to work with nearly all animals!

Ava did an awesome job taking care of our kitty Winnie while we were away! She was so attentive and provided detailed feedback each day about how things were going. She watched over our house and watered our flowers as well. She also drew an adorable picture of our girl. Would highly recommend!!
Ava took care of our elder kitty while we were traveling for 12 days. She did such a fabulous job we arrived home to a cuddly, calm cat. Which is a feat considering, Stella usually spends the day after our return yeowling at us for leaving her. But with Ava, Stella was in happy spirits. Ava kept us up to date throughout our trip, sent pictures and treated our home with the utmost respect. 10/10 would recommend Ava to anyone who is seeking care for their beloved fur buddy. She is a fantastic kitty sitter, but I know she has extensive experience with dogs as well.
