At my own home, I have two cats. One cat has chronic pancreatitis and often needs medicine to treat her symptoms, both in pill and liquid form. The other cat is an escape artist so I know how to walk into my home with extra caution to ensure they stay inside. Both cats can be playful, so we use laser pointers, furry mice toys, and worms on a stick to make sure they get their energy out, but we make sure not to use feathers or loose strings that could be harmful if ingested. We also have plenty of scratching posts available, as well as two cat trees for them to climb and scratch to their hearts content. In the case of discipline, my husband and I use a spray bottle of water to help discourage unwanted behaviors.
