Pet care experience

Cuddles, walks and head patts

I have experience caring for both dogs and cats in a home environment and am confident handling a range of temperaments, including shy, anxious, and high-energy pets. I am a pet mum to a Samoyed, whom I raised from a puppy, which has given me hands-on experience with puppy training, including toilet training, lead walking, basic obedience (sit, recall, name recognition), crate training, and managing high energy levels. I’m comfortable with maintaining training routines and reinforcing good behaviour through positive reward-based methods. I also have experience caring for cats, including understanding their need for space, routine, and gentle interaction. I’m confident with feeding, litter tray maintenance, and building trust with more independent or nervous cats. I am a pet parent to a Maine Coon. I’m attentive, reliable, and used to following detailed care instructions, and I always prioritise safety, routine, and the individual needs of each pet. I’m also comfortable administering basic care routines and ensuring pets are kept calm, stimulated, and well looked after while their owners are away.

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing are always my top priority. I take the time to build trust with every animal, moving at their pace and respecting their boundaries so they feel secure in their own environment. I aim to keep their routine as consistent as possible, creating a calm, familiar atmosphere whether I’m visiting your home or staying overnight. I’m very mindful of safety on walks and in the home – including secure leads/harnesses, awareness of surroundings, and keeping doors, gates, and potential hazards in check at all times. I’m confident handling a range of temperaments, from energetic puppies to more nervous or sensitive pets, and will always adjust my approach to suit their needs. As someone who works from home, I’m able to provide a high level of supervision and companionship, meaning your pet won’t be left alone for long periods (if at all, depending on your preferences). You’ll also receive regular updates and photos for peace of mind, along with clear and responsive communication throughout. My goal is simple: to make your pet feel safe, relaxed, and genuinely cared for, while giving you complete confidence that they’re in good hands.

Their communication is incredible, I always get regular updates and photos, which gives me such peace of mind. They truly treat every pet as if they were their own. Beyond just the basics, they go the extra mile with grooming, enrichment, and dedicated play sessions. On top of that, they are incredibly flexible and accommodating with scheduling. If you want someone who provides top tier care and genuine love, Autumn's your gal!

Autumn was fantastic looking after our Bernese. She treated him like her own, giving him so much love, attention, and care throughout the stay. She followed all of our instructions carefully and made sure his routine was kept exactly as we asked. Communication was always quick and reassuring, and she was really flexible in trying to accommodate last-minute booking requests where possible. We felt completely at ease knowing he was in such safe, capable hands.

Schedule

Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine, as I work from home and structure my schedule around the animals I’m caring for. This allows me to be flexible with walks, feeding times, and companionship throughout the day, rather than fitting pets around a rigid schedule. I’m able to provide regular walks, enrichment, and consistent supervision, ensuring your pet’s needs are met in a calm and attentive way. During the week, I’m available for dog walking, drop-ins, and house sitting, with plenty of flexibility to match your pet’s usual routine. Because I can bring my work setup with me for house sits, I’m often able to stay with your pet for most (or all) of the day, offering a level of presence that suits dogs who need company or reassurance. Weekends are also available and tend to be even more flexible, making them ideal for longer walks, extended stays, or last-minute bookings. Overall, pet care is something I prioritise and plan my schedule around, so you can feel confident your pet is getting consistent, reliable care every day of the week.

To provide the best possible care, it’s really helpful to know as much as possible about your pet in advance. This includes their daily routine (feeding times, walk schedule, sleeping arrangements), personality and temperament (e.g. nervous, excitable, reactive), and how they are around other dogs, people, or animals. Please let me know about any training cues or commands they know, as well as any behaviours you’re currently working on so I can stay consistent. It’s also important to share any medical needs, allergies, or dietary requirements, plus emergency contact details for your vet. For dogs, I’d love to know their walking habits (on/off lead, recall, triggers), and for cats or smaller pets, their litter, feeding, and enrichment preferences. If your pet has any quirks (fears, favourite toys, things to avoid), definitely include those too – the more I know, the better I can make them feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
