Hi fellow feline-loving friends! My name is August (they/he) 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 and welcome to my cat-sitting page. About Me I am a highly attuned, cat obsessed, professional full-time cat sitter. I live in Portland with my two 15-year-old kitties who are my world. I’ve had them both since kittenhood, and they are still going strong! I’ve been working with cats since 2012 and have been a full-time cat sitter for over four years. I’ve always had an unwavering love for cats. My dream was to work with them professionally, and for the early part of my adult life, I pursued veterinary medicine. To prepare for vet school, I worked as a veterinary technician at an emergency animal hospital, as the lead caretaker for a neonatal kitten program at a rescue, and at a busy cat boarding hotel. Any free time I had, I spent volunteering at local shelters, practicing Trap-Neuter-Return for the feral cats in my community, and fostering senior cats and kittens. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biology and even attended a semester of veterinary school before realizing that my high sensitivity and intuition weren’t suited for the high-stress, emotionally intense environment of clinical veterinary work. Witnessing animal suffering daily took a toll on me. That’s when I rediscovered my love for cat sitting. It allowed me to use my medical knowledge while providing compassionate care in a calm, loving environment that’s much less stressful for the cats, too. I now focus on providing exceptional in-home care, especially for cats with special needs, medical conditions, or anxiety. This is not a side gig, it’s my career and passion. I treat your kitty as if they were one of my own. I take this job seriously, and it is my number one priority each day. My goal is to give you peace of mind, and your cats the best care possible, so you can relax while you’re away. I truly enjoy developing a bond with my kitty clients and there is nothing better than earning their trust. Every visit, I send photos, a detailed update and check-in/out messages. I pride myself on taking great photos, and you may receive some pretty cute shots as a bonus with your booking! What’s Included in Each Visit: 🍔 Feeding Routine: Whatever food your kitty needs according to your specifications. Wet food, dry food, raw, supplements, toppers, and treats. I’ve got it covered! 💦 Fresh Water: I refresh bowls and fountains daily to keep hydration appealing and safe. No stale, shallow water bowls while I’m around! 💩 Litter Duty: I scoop daily, handle all litter types (including Litter Robot), and clean up any scatter. Any vomit or hairball messes are cleaned as well. ❤️ Affection + Play: Once essentials are done, I give your kitty some quality time and TLC. Whether they want brushing, lap cuddles, playtime, laser pointer games, or just quiet companionship. I always follow their lead. 📷 Updates + Photos: I text you when I arrive and leave, and send a summary with plenty of pictures. Have a question? Let me know! I have professional veterinary training, and am highly skilled with this! 🫧 Cleanliness & Safety: I treat your home with great respect and leave it as clean (or cleaner!) than I found it. I’m very mindful of door dashers, home security, and keeping your cats safely indoors. During the Meet & Greet After you submit a request, I’ll reach out to schedule a Meet & Greet. This 30 minute visit helps me get to know your cats and their routine, and gives your kitty a chance to meet me in a low-pressure way before the actual visits begin.
