Safety, trust & environment

I treat every pet with the same devotion I give my own therapy cat, Athena. My professional background means I’m always scanning for hazards and using 'behavior as communication' to read your pet's stress levels. Whether it's double-locking your doors or using professional handling for powerful breeds on-leash, safety and security are my top priorities.

August is an incredibly skilled and compassionate dog handler. She has recently completed her 4 year degree in Canine Training and Management at SUNY Cobleskill. During her time there, she has learned, practiced, and become proficient in the psychological, and hands on skills required to train and handle various types, sizes, and difficulties of dogs. She is well versed in her leash skills and is excellent at being aware of the animal(s) at the end of her leash, and keeping them safe and secure in various environments and weather conditions no matter the training level or behavior of the animal. Over those four years she has taken numerous classes, such as those in which she has trained sporting dogs, trained dogs in scent work, professional obedience and rally (with pets and working dogs), and trained dogs to complete the Canine Good Citizen exam! August has also trained and socialized her very own cat, Athena to the level of becoming a certified therapy animal with Love on a Leash, and they often do visits at libraries and other facilities! I myself am always honored to be able to have August take care of any of my pets, as she is so attentive, knowledgeable, and caring towards them.

August is a fantastic pet sitter. She cares about the animals like they are her very own. Her care and response to the animals is really great. I have found August to always be responsible, timely, and communicative with me, so there is no stress there either. I would highly recommend her as a pet sitter. She is clearly very experienced and focused on her love of animals. I highly suggest August for anyone who needs a responsible and dedicated pet sitter. She is our cat's favorite!

August is such a wonderful caregiver to their own and my cat. Over the holidays August watched my cat and every day they promptly sent a picture of my fur baby. Anytime I missed my cat I got a facetime call from August and my cat. And by the time I came home I could tell my cat was very comfortable with August. I felt very comfortable with August watching my cat and knew he was in safe hands.
