Pet care experience
Taking a break from vet bills!
Note for summer: we have air conditioning units up and downstairs, various cooling bits for dogs, a cool tiled kitchen floor, and I'm normally up with the sun so walks are early before it gets too warm. I also keep homemade chicken bone broth in the freezer to encourage more fluids if needed. My partner and I have been taking in elderly rescue dogs for about 15 years, but we're taking a break to rebuild our savings after a few too many vet bills! I absolutely love having dogs around, I actually also used to care for elderly humans, specialising in dementia care, so there's a bit of a theme I guess!

Simply the best! Audrey and Gerry were lovely from the very first time, they were so open to accommodate all our requests. We had few meetups prior to Gisele spending 3 weeks with them as she would also overlap with another doggo. They handled introducing the dogs perfectly and paid attention to every detail. What else can I say? A home away from home for Gisele. I got daily pictures seeing my dog doing the daily things she does with us like walks, enjoying car rides etc etc. Gisele was definitely loved a lot and enjoyed her time! Massive thank you to both and we will definitely be bringing Gisele again (from London).

It was so nice to pick Pippin up and see her so happy. Thank you so much for looking after her. Both you and Gerry are wonderful people who obviously love dogs. I will definely use you again.
Ollie had the most wonderful time with Audrey. I’m sure he had a great holiday. Audrey kept me updated every day with pictures and reports which was very comforting for me. Many thanks Audrey!

Audrey and Jerry are so lovely and friendly. Our greyhound Max can be a little reactive with some other breeds of dog but Audrey is calm and patient with him and he responds to her beautifully. When we dropped him off at Audrey’s for this visit he wagged his tail and went straight in to get some fuss from both Audrey and Jerry. We get regular updates during his stay which is also great we can go on holiday and not worry about Max as he is in very safe caring hands. Thank you Audrey and Jerry

Audrey and her husband were amazing, Dino took to them straight away, and he can act strange with new people. Audrey kept me updated throughout his stay, I would 100% recommend to anyone. We will be using again 😊

Marnie is so happy, as Marnie can be. Marnie is a chilled out dog and is certainly herself when she is with Audrey.

Schedule
I work a few hours per week helping people out, but am flexible on hours. For the most part, I can have a dog with me, much of my time is spent pottering about at home or on the allotment. If a dog is anxious about being left alone, I'm quite happy to work around them.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a small fenced garden, I can do as much walking as needed, ideally not vastly more than an hour as a routine though. I do drive if your dog enjoys trips out. I'm comfortable with medications, or whatever treatments are needed.
A typical day
I try to keep as closely to a dog's normal routine as possible to give them that stability, so the more information you can provide, the better.

- I do have recurring back issues so unfortunately would struggle with dogs that pull a lot on walks. I prefer if a dog has a harness as it means they're safer in the car and easier to control on walks if needed.
