Information Aubrey A. would like to know about your pet

We love any and all breeds. We do want our client dogs to be well-mannered and also steer away from those who are not house-trained or excessively drool... Yeah... that kind of excludes most Mastiffs, for example... We love our Mastiffs, but can not handle cleaning drool of the ceiling, SORRY! :( No Puppies. Young dogs must be house broken and have had basic obedience training and socialization with other dogs if they are be considered.

A typical day

We go on walks, exploring at the lake, Rides in the car, play with toys in a large yard! Laser pointer fun in the winter and swimming pool and doggie ice cream parties in the summer! We often take field trips out to a 40 acre ranch where we do everything from racing the 4 wheeler, to swimming in ponds, to being lazy in the house!

Aspen Pet Retreat

Pet care experience

Yes! Aspen Pet Retreat is coming back! I took a hiatus because of a hectic job and lots of travel with the new hubby. We have also moved locations, and now we are in Midwest City after acquiring said husband, 2 cats, and a current foster dog. So now all dogs MUST be good with cats, especially since one of our cats loves dogs and will probably want to love on yours. Yes! Lots has changed, but the care and love for animals has not. We have found that starting July 2026 we have time to board again. Please take the time to read the information below. We send photo updates to 100% of our clients, just not through the Rover App. ;) Also as stated below, Aspen Pet Retreat is exclusive to spayed and neutered pets who are up to date on shots. Please read the information below. We provide a stress free fun environment for your pets while you are away on vacation, hospital stays or business trips. Letting us care for your animals gives them more one on one time than a Doggie Day Care with less money out of your pocket. We have no children in the home. I have been in animal rescue for 25+ years and am well versed in Cat, Dog and reptile behavior. I understand and exceed all requirements for housing and cleanliness. We are retired so your pet will have us on site during the day and night. We are also comfortable giving special diets and medications, including injections. We have openings for cats (Cats from the same household can be housed together). We play with a laser pointer and have catnip parties as long as Mom and Dad approve! We welcome special needs dogs and cats! So we are comfortable giving fluids and medication along with lifting pets in and out of wheelchairs and changing diapers. Caregivers deserve vacations too, so they can keep giving awesome care. Ask us what we can do to help! We currently have room for 4 dogs. So there will be lots of opportunities to play and socialize. The dogs spend the night in their beds behind baby gates or in their crates if they have one. They sleep close to the master bedroom so I can take care of any overnight needs. (IF they have a specific aversion to a kennel, I have other options. I am a big advocate of kennel training, and part of that is never forcing the kennel :) Talk to us.) I have a large fenced-in back yard. When the weather permits we go on hikes! We have laser pointer, and pool parties. Have a dog not so happy to hang out with other dogs? We have space to have one dog kept separately if not dog friendly. Cat Bookings: Please email us for availability. Even though our calendar says booked or unavailable, we almost always have availability to take in our feline friends! The Calendar just pertains to dogs. They are kept separate from the dogs unless you give the OK on a long stay for the cat to have chance to mingle, the dogs in our care of cat friendly and most important of all, the cat is comfortable and asking to join the dogs in the main room. Safety is by far the priority for all! :) Small Animal Bookings: Please email us for availability. Even though our calendar says booked or unavailable, we almost always have availability to take in our Small furry, feathered or scaly friends! The Calendar just pertains to dogs. Non-Holiday Pricing: Dogs: $25/dog/day Cats: $20/cat/day Reptiles: $15/reptile/day Holiday Rates: Dogs: $35/dog/day Cats: $25/cat/day Reptiles: $15/reptile/day We take cats, dogs, birds and reptiles. Reptiles and birds are welcome. I am knowledgeable with snakes, lizards turtles, tortoises, Parrots, Cockatiels and parakeets and skilled in administering medication (both oral and needle). You just bring their housing, lighting and food with them and I will do the rest. All cats and dogs must be neutered or spayed, current on Rabies, Distemper. At this time we do not require flea and tick treatments but do recommend them.

If I could give Aubrey, Cliff, and their sweet foster dog Titus more than 5 stars, I absolutely would.✨ Our four dogs stayed with them for almost a week, and this was, without a doubt, the best Rover experience we have ever had. From the moment we dropped them off, it was obvious that they genuinely love and understand dogs. Aubrey has incredible knowledge of dog behavior and took the time to get to know each of our pups individually, respecting their different personalities, boundaries, and needs. She introduced them thoughtfully and patiently, making sure everyone felt safe, comfortable, and happy. They didn’t just watch our dogs, they truly cared for them. Every single day was filled with love, attention, and enrichment. They even planned fun activities, like a pool party, so our dogs could have an amazing vacation of their own! We received constant updates, photos, and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. One thing that touched us the most was how devoted they were. Aubrey even slept in the living room with the dogs so they wouldn’t feel alone. That level of care is something you simply can’t put a price on. It was clear that our dogs were treated like members of their own family every minute they were there. Titus deserves a special mention too! He is such a gentle, well-mannered foster dog and helped make the environment even more welcoming. We came home to four happy, relaxed, and loved dogs, and we truly couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you, Aubrey and Cliff, for caring for our babies as if they were your own. We feel incredibly lucky to have found you, and there is no one else we would trust more with our dogs. We cannot recommend you highly enough! 🩷

Very grateful for Aubrey! Sox seemed like he had a good weekend during his stay. She had toys and treats ready for him and made sure he had time to adjust when I dropped him off. She was flexible with the pick up/drop off time as well, which I greatly appreciated! I also appreciated her communication and updates she sent me to assure me he was doing okay. Will definitely book again when I’m in the area. Thank you Aubrey!

Aubrey did an outstanding job with our little Remi. I was out of town but Aubrey sent my wife daily pics and video of our little girl playing with her other house guests. All indications are Remi loved every minute playing with her new friends. We will definitely reach out to Aubrey in the future to watch Remi for us. Thank you Aubrey for taking such good care of our little girl.
