My availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays is limited to afternoons after 2:00 PM due to classes. Other than that my schedule is very open and flexible, though I do ride the CTA so be patient with me if I run a bit late due to a bus delay.

I am someone who is very stringent about schedules. Your pet will be getting their medication on time, going on walks at a certain time, and any other time sensitive pet care needs (like meals) will be done quickly and methodically. I am also someone that likes to help your animal adjust to me being there, I know I’m a new person, so for the first few visits, I will ask you to leave me a few of their favorite items (e.g. toys, bed, etc) so I can provide them for comfort. Your pet will also be getting a lot of love, care, and affection. I know that I can help animals that get anxious when their owners leave, since I’ve done it in the past. I will also let you take the lead in how I handle caring for your animal. I am flexible!!

Please inform me of everything about your pet’s condition, and everything I can do to accommodate their needs. Ideally, I would like to know what treats work, what limitations they have, what to do in case of an emergency, and if your pet has any behaviors I should be aware of.
A typical day
If your pet is a dog I would take them outside to the closest park (or to your backyard) to play in the way that fits their body and personality the best. Some dogs like fetch, and others like sitting in the sun. They will obviously get lots of attention and love from me, and I would also want to tailor the routine to the specific dog. Cat wise, I have an unholy amount of cat toys and treat puzzles. It is pretty unlikely your cat would get bored with me! My cat is also generally extremely friendly and gets along with other animals. So it’d be a good time for all around.

I’ve always been really good with animals; both dogs and cats. I used to dog sit for my neighbors’ older cocker spaniel growing up, until he passed over the rainbow bridge when I was 13. This inspired me to start dog walking for the neighborhood whenever they needed it. I treat any animal with kindness, respect, and a gentle hand/voice. I couldn’t be around cats because my mom was allergic. I owned a blind senior dog for a few years until life circumstances left her with my mom, and I generally have a lot of experience with senior animals. I currently have a client that is a senior dog that’s standoffish to most people, but is fond of me. As soon as I moved out at 18, I started volunteering at PAWS Tinley Park in their cat section. I took to it like a fish to water. I volunteered there for 2 years until I moved to the city. I have a cat and I absolutely adore her. I raised her from kitten up.

As a pet caregiver, Atlas is fantastic. My cat took to him pretty much immediately, and he's been a huge help getting her to get vet appointments for vaccines when I'm not able to.
