I’ve been working with animals professionally since I was 19 — I’m now 26. Over the years, I’ve worked as a vet assistant, a professional groomer, and at a pet store, gaining hands-on experience with animals of all kinds. These days, my main focus is boarding, walking, and house sitting — and it’s something I genuinely love doing. What sets my care apart is the family-style experience I offer. When your dog stays with me, they aren’t just being watched — they’re becoming part of our daily life. It’s usually me, my young son, and my partner Brian. We go on nature walks, play outside, and include your dog in everything like they’re part of the crew. This isn’t just pet sitting — it’s a second home. I’ve found that so many dogs (and their humans) are looking for that feeling of safety, love, and belonging — even if they haven’t put it into words yet. That’s exactly what I try to create here. I’ve worked with dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities — including shy rescues, high-energy pups, and seniors. I’m trained in animal behavior, have my own vehicle, and can adapt to your dog’s specific needs and temperament. 🚗 Please note: For boarding in my home, dogs must be comfortable around kids and okay with cats, since we do have both. I want everyone (human and animal) to feel safe and relaxed. Whether your pup needs playtime, quiet time, cuddles, or space, I always meet them where they are — with patience, love, and respect.

Athena is BEYOND WONDERFUL. I was driving into Chicago from out of town, only about 90 minutes away from dropping my pups off with their original sitter when he had to cancel. Immediately, I went into solution mode, scrambling to find someone to care for my three babies. Athena responded promptly and swooped in to help on extremely short notice. Athena was trustworthy, sent lots of photo updates, and my pups took to her right away. They clearly enjoyed exploring her fenced backyard and seemed completely comfortable in her care. When I picked them up, we talked for quite a while, and I was so grateful that she answered the call when I needed help. She is truly a kind soul with a sweet spirit, and I genuinely feel like God placed her on our path. She is so loving and treats my babies like they are on vacation; I call her home Disney World! 🤣

Absolutely wonderful experience. She was incredibly accommodating when we needed last-minute care for our dog during our anniversary trip, and she made the entire process easy and stress-free. From the start she was responsive, kind, and clearly very experienced with dogs. Our dog was well cared for, happy, and comfortable the entire time. She also kept us updated, which gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away. It’s obvious she genuinely loves animals and treats them like her own. We are so grateful she was able to help us on short notice and would absolutely trust her again in the future. Highly recommend!
Athena took wonderful care of our 9-year old yellow lab. She was available less than 24 hours for 1 day of dog sitting. Our dog was happy and relaxed when we picked her up. I highly recommend Athena to watch your pet!

Schedule
I work from home part time, so your fur baby will fit in perfectly with my schedule. I am looking for something to do that will occupy more of my time, and what better way than to spend it with a new furry friend to love?!

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced yard and a friendly cat who is more like a dog. I can keep him separate if ever needed. My house is a little over 1,300 sq ft so there’s plenty of space. If you need your pet to be crated I am comfortable with that. As well as if any medication is needed to be given or frequent walks. I will always respect the home of the pet and owner. Just point me where I need to go with some guidance regarding you fue baby’s routine, you are in great hands!
Pets
A typical day
I love dog parks. If your pet does great with other dogs, I would love to give them that experience. If they are a dog who prefers space from socialization, nature walks are always a great way to burn energy and do a little exploring. If you have cats, I understand things work a little different. I can bring some wand toys of my own, or if you have some I will try to play with the kitty. If it’s clear they need space or time to adjust I have no issue respecting that.
