Pet lover/trainer works @ home
Hello! I’m a former dog and horse trainer (have owned both most of my life) who now works as a freelancer from home. I travel for work periodically so I can’t have my own pet but would love to surrogate yours! Animals bring me so much joy and I feel much more connected to them then people sometimes. In addition to frequent walks and lots of spoiling (per your permission) I’m also a runner and would love to take your pup on jogs with me daily. Also please tell me your training words/rules and I’ll reinforce your training and maybe teach them new tricks! I do have a strict positive reinforcement only rule for all creatures. For negative behaviors you’d be amazed how much tone of voice, human body language and eye contact work as training tools. Happy to share with you training tips when you pick up you pet. As an animal lover I’m down if you want to FaceTime your pup too. And happy to give any updates as you’d like. I look forward to meeting you and your pup!

Ashton was incredibly patient with my frenchie Benny. Even when he was showing aggressive behavior she tried her best to redirect him and diffuse his tantrums. Unfortunately and understandably Benny did have to leave a day early but I greatly appreciated her efforts and her communication. All things considered, if Benny was better behaved I would 100% book again.
Ashton was great with Zeus. She helped watch him during 4th of July since he’s terrified of the noises. She was very responsive and gave me updates. This was our first time using Rover. We did a meet and greet and Zeus was very comfortable with her. Thank you for caring for my big baby on the scariest day for him.

Lola had a wonderful time with Ashton, exploring her neighborhood and using the dog park in the property. I felt happy that she was getting great care by someone who has had experience with corgis. Excited for future stays :)
Ten Stars! Ashton was the best! She went above and beyond caring for our Obi for three weeks at our home. Ashton took him outdoors regularly, kept us updated with his health, and sent us photos whenever requested. Ashton is trustworthy, and she’s our dog’s favorite. Thank you, Ashton!
Ashton was incredibly patient and understanding of our dog’s quirks. She clearly made our reactive dog feel comfortable in her space and we are so appreciative!! Will definitely use Ashton’s services again soon.

A typical day
Lots of hang time. Runs. There’s a bunch of parks and dog runs nearby, and I’m right next to the lakeshore trail and dog beach. Please let me know your dogs socialization level or if there are any issues with protectiveness/aggression/dominance so I can avoid stressing your dog unnecessarily.

- I have owned everything from a corgi to a Doberman and am comfortable with all breeds. Please let me know if your dog has food aggression, toy aggression, or socialization issues. Not a deal breaker. I just need to be aware so I can adjust care accordingly.
