As summer comes to an end, I'll be returning to my full-time role as an elementary school principal. During the school year, I'm typically away from home Monday through Friday from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If your dog is comfortable being home during those hours—similar to a typical workday—I would love to care for them! Before and after work, your pet will receive plenty of attention, potty breaks, playtime, walks (if requested), cuddles, and lots of love. One of the perks of my career is having several school breaks throughout the year. During fall, winter, spring, summer breaks, and long weekends, my schedule is much more flexible, allowing me to spend significantly more time at home with your pet. If you're looking for boarding during one of those breaks, your dog will enjoy even more companionship and attention throughout the day. My home is safe, smoke-free, and has a fully fenced yard. Transparency is important to me, so if your pet requires constant supervision or frequent midday care during the workweek, I may not be the best fit. However, if your dog is comfortable with a typical workday routine, I'd be happy to welcome them into my home. As a school principal, responsibility, communication, and creating a safe, caring environment are at the heart of what I do every day—and I bring those same qualities to caring for your pets.

I provide a safe, calm, clean, and loving environment where pets can feel comfortable and cared for while away from their families. In my home, dogs will have access to a spacious, air-conditioned 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time and potty breaks. My home is smoke-free with no other pets or children, which allows me to provide individualized attention and a peaceful environment. I carefully follow each pet owner’s instructions regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, sleeping arrangements, routines, and any special needs. I understand how important consistency and communication are for pets, especially seniors or dogs adjusting to a new environment. As a school principal, safety, responsibility, supervision, and communication are part of my daily life, and I bring those same qualities into pet care. My goal is to make both pets and their owners feel safe, comfortable, and confident while in my care.

Before caring for a pet, it is important for me to understand their personality, daily routine, medical needs, and any behavioral considerations such as anxiety, reactivity, feeding schedule, or medication requirements. I always appreciate detailed instructions from pet parents so I can provide consistent, personalized care that matches their pet’s normal routine. I am most comfortable caring for small and medium-sized dogs, as my personal experience has been with a small breed (a Shih Tzu). I do my best to provide safe, calm care for every pet, and I am transparent about my experience level so expectations are clear for both pets and owners. For any dog with specific behavioral or safety concerns, I appreciate open communication ahead of time so I can ensure it is a good fit and that I can provide the best possible care.
A typical day
A typical day in my care is calm, structured, and focused on each pet’s comfort, safety, and routine. I begin the day with morning potty breaks and a walk to help dogs get exercise and start the day in a positive way. Feeding times are followed according to the owner’s instructions, and I always ensure fresh water is available throughout the day. Throughout the day, pets will enjoy a mix of supervised outdoor time in my fully fenced yard, gentle play, and enrichment activities such as fetch, short walks, or quiet companionship depending on their energy level and personality. I also make time for rest periods so dogs feel relaxed and comfortable, especially senior pets who may need a slower pace. In the evening, I typically provide another walk, potty break, and calm wind-down time. My goal is to keep pets feeling safe, loved, and as close to their normal routine as possible while they are in my care.

I recently lost my 16-year-old Shih Tzu, Harper, who was a huge part of my life. Caring for him through every stage of life, especially his senior years, gave me extensive experience with patience, routines, medication support, comfort care, and recognizing dogs’ individual needs. I am comfortable caring for both small and large dogs and provide a calm, clean, smoke-free home environment. Your dog will have access to a spacious, air-conditioned 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time. There are no other animals or children in the home, allowing for a peaceful environment and plenty of individualized attention. Ashley took care of my dog as if it was her own. Usually my dog likes to go on hunger strikes when he has to go to another house, but he ate the entire time he was there! She stuck to his daily routine, and gave him so much love. My dog was so welcomed by Ashley! She sent my pictures and updates when asked, and I greatly appreciated it! Ashley would be an exceptional pet guardian. I have witnessed her love and compassion for dogs throughout her entire life. She has always been an incredibly caring and nurturing pet parent to her own dog and warmly welcomes her siblings’ “canine cousins” into her pack. Ashley cared for our sweet girl Dora from the time she was 10 until 16 years old, and I truly don’t know what we would have done without her. Dora was an elderly dog with her own routines and needs and Ashley always treated her with so much patience, love, and care. She made sure Dora got her short walks, gave her medications when needed, and always made her feel comfortable and safe while we were out of town. One of my favorite things was how close Dora and Ashley’s dog became - they were truly two peas in a pod. It was so comforting knowing Dora had companionship and was genuinely happy while we were away. Even in her older years, Dora absolutely loved Ashley, and it was obvious the feeling was mutual. Ashley is reliable, compassionate, and someone I trusted completely with our old girl.
