I am regularly available throughout the day, especially the middle of the day while my youngest is at childcare. I am frequently available for overnights or vacation house-sitting, and I am happy to care for both pets and home tasks as needed.

I have several cats of my own in a low key, calm environment. We regularly have them in for wellness checkups, and they are exceptional with my toddler. Ghost is very social and patient, while void is a big, but very sweet “momma’s boy!”
Information Ashley S. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your fur baby has any preferences, favorites, behaviors or special needs I can help care for! My preference is for medium to small breeds of dogs for walks, but I absolutely adore big puppers for house-sitting and sleepover dog piles! (I have accidentally been “part of the pack” for several large sweeties who pretend they’re lap dogs.) I struggle with very agressive dogs currently, as I have previously been attacked and hospitalized by one. I am working through my trauma responses gently with exposure therapy, but I am not yet ready for frequent/aggressive barkers. If you are unsure if your pupper will respond well with me, rest assured that I am always up for a preliminary meet and greet (a chance to say hello AND give pets and butt scratches)!
A typical day
I love giving animals a chance to explore and stretch their legs! I have a ton of parks and beaches nearby; even one directly connected to my backyard! Play and exercise keep the mind sharp! (It also makes for a great, solid sleep at the end of a fun-filled day!)

Pet care experience
I have worked as a Wildlife Rehabilitator, PA/Nanny and Outdoor Educator for 20+ years. I am the person at parks and zoos holding an owl or hawk and teaching about birds of prey. I have had a plethora animal companions throughout my life. I can handle difficult care tasks, like medicating, in ways that minimize stress and promote positive experiences for each animal in my care. I am even hoping to do professional grooming soon! (So far I have experience doing basic grooming and a small subset of tasks, like nail trimming and ear washing.) I have a family of four boys - two human, two furry - and I have learned to thrive in chaos. I am a huge animal nerd and I love going for walks, drawing, reading and videogames in my free time.

Ashley was fantastic! She went above and beyond and gave our two dogs so much love. She was totally on top of all the cares for our older dog and made sure both got plenty of activity and cuddles. She was great about communicating with us and keeping us updated. Definitely our new favorite sitter!
Ashley did an outstanding job house sitting and looking after my cats! She was very loving with them amd sent the best pictures to me during my vacation! Ashley was very thoughtful and attentive towards my cats, who both needed extra care and their medications when I was away. She sent me many photos and updates that brought me peace of mind. One of the best Rover sitters I have had in terms of communication. You can depend on her to treat your fur babies with respect and extra love!
Ashley watched my pet rabbit Bambi and dropped in twice a day to feed him and let him run around and play. She was great at communicating with me and gave Bambi lots of attention and love while she was here. Loved the updates each visit and photos. And she put up with all of my questions as this was my first time hiring a sitter ? Thank you Ashley!
